This is one of my new favorite spots!
I've been here twice now, here's the break down!
The food: The lunch menu: I've tried the tuna melt sandwich, which let me tell you, is DELIcious!! Just melts in youe mouth and full of flavor! Even for $15 I would get it all over again, which I personally think is a bit pricey but you're also paying for ambience which is really pretty if you're sitting outdoors! The potato salad was my side choice which was very yummy and I've ordered it twice because it's very flavorful. The truffle fries are OMG!! 🔥 Don't pass up on the truffle fries! The container was empty before we paid for the check and some of our food was even left over. Yummy side sauce it paired with it! It's very strong in truffle flavor and did not disappoint! The mocha coffee (iced) very delicious! The alcoholic drinks, strong but yummy, a little too strong for my liking I will say but gives too a nice buzz. The drink itself isn't really served too pretty just a basil leaf I. A simple glass but it's fine for the price. I would preferred a little more effort from the bar, oh well. The dinner menu: I've tried the burgers and they're good, not great. The burger I got came with sautéed onions and tomato in a sauce that I don't feel paired very well with the burger, but it's filling, I just wouldn't order it again, and neither would my husband. The desert: honestly, idk if the batch was just not fresh or what, but it just looked prettier than it tasted if I'm being honest. The pumpkin cheesecake was tarte but somewhat sweet but I wouldn't order it again nor would I order the chocolate cake I ordered either. It was way too thick with the top layer that our spoons couldn't even cut into it without some effort. Overall: I would say coming here for lunch is best, I'd prefer their menu however I love the ambience of the heaters and fire lit heaters more in the evening against the trees in the backdrop all around the restaurant! The service: It was good the first time, and great the...
Read moreMy brothers and I took my mom here for breakfast the day after we buried my dad, so we were looking for a little splurgy pick me up. Mom picked the place because she loves this bakery, but it was our first time at this location.
We were seated outside in a very cute covered patio area. Our waiter was very nice. We ordered a variety of coffees and cocktails, nothing was particularly remarkable, but fine. The entrees, though, were a massive disappointment.
The salmon hash (the clear winner) was delicious. The salmon wasn't overcooked and everything tasted exactly like what we were expecting from a place like this.
The Monte Cristo (which tbh I ordered purely out of morbid curiosity as one of the listed ingredients was PINEAPPLE) let me tell you, this was an abomination and I'm the monster who loves pineapple on pizza. This sandwich was dense, thick, bland, and a complete disaster. Nothing about this was good or right. Gordon Ramsey would've yelled for an hour.
The risotto cakes and eggs, which was completely forgettable
The corned beef hash which was just sad and limp and oof, just don't
Why didn't't we we send it all back? Because nobody wanted to admit their dish was awful and disappoint our mom, who specifically wanted to come here. Joke's on us, mom felt the same way, which we found out later that day when she wandered in on us quietly sharing notes while devouring the PASTRIES and the CROISSANTS we'd ordered to take home, which were incredible.
Our guess? The folks in the kitchen and the ones responsible for the pastries are different and one knows what they're doing and the...
Read moreI've loved this place for years- the croissants are amazing, the service is usually great, and overall this was my favorite location- until today. Today there was a hair in my French toast. Fortunately I saw it before taking a bite and was spared that experience. Since we had already waited 40 min. for a table and needed to get to an appointment there wasn't time to wait for them to fix it (not sure I could've stomached it either) so I passed on a replacement. I watched everyone eat while I finished my tea then paid for everyone else (friend's birthday). I was shocked to see they didn't comp a single thing- not even my tea- not even a croissant- that added to the fact I never received an apology. I had an order messed up slightly at a pizza joint earlier this week, we were still able to eat it, but they comped the whole thing, and I was apologized to by a very responsive manager. Apparently the more you pay- the less they accept mistakes or try to make it right? There was a HAIR in my food and no apology even, no follow up by anyone. I guess I should be grateful I didn't discover it in my mouth and that they took it away (after my sister verified what I had already said to the waiter and pointed out the dark curled hair sticking out of the batter on the toast)? Look your food over carefully- no one wants to experience that. If it happens to you be sure to take a picture of it before they take it away; that may encourage them to be...
