Like an honest review? Follow me.

The line at 7am was fairly long and moved pretty quick (read on and you'll know why). The cashier wasn't exactly friendly and it was difficult to understand him. But, there was two places to tip him. 🤔 Why? A tip shows gratitude for doing something personal for me. You took my order (your job) in the most minimal way possible and, were rather blaise about doing so. Here's my tip - get an attitude adjustment, or a different job.

When the orders were ready, rather than call out our order # at the top of our receipt, they read out what was in the bag. 🧐 If I was picking up for a group, like the customer two ahead of me, I would be totally lost.

The food. 😐 I ordered a breakfast plate with scrambled eggs and bacon. $11.71 Not a bad price considering the location and the cost of eggs now days. The bacon left much to be desired (rubbery), but... it's an airport greasy spoon, and a fast food one at that. That being said, I would rather eat McDonald's bacon. The hash browns were mostly undercooked, with bits of burnt thrown in. Regular white bread, and a small selection of jelly were the best part of the meal (though being gf and diabetic, I couldn't eat it 😞). My eggs on the other hand were partly raw. I don't mean "wet", I mean RAW. Can anyone say salmonella? I tried my best to get a picture of it because Idk how to post a video on here, but the portion of egg that was liquid encased in the cooked was about the size of the palm of my hand. Not a tiny amount. The majority of my eggs. I am already at my gate or I would have demanded my money back.

Needless to say if I ever come back, I will check my meal before...

I had a 30 minute layover in the Chicago Midway Airport I saw this tavern and stopped for a sandwich I had not eaten breakfast and I was so hungry. I got the beef with hot peppers but they were layered and kept going layer after layer it had one thick slice of belpper and that was it , it did not look anything like the photo.

These layers were so hot it burned my mouth my lips my stomach from trying 2 bites , 1 bite was just bread I was trying to eat to stop the heat on My mouth and it also was saturated in hot peppers, no onions and no bell pepper's except for 1 thick slice that was raw , the hot peppers what appeared to be a whole jar of hot peppers . I got the combo meal I could not eat the fries or drink the Diet Coke I was ill the whole flight to California I can’t believe such an extreme heat of pepper would be served at the airport I’m disabled and could only see the photo of what I desired but it looked nothing like the photo and was tasteless other than extreme heat. My first visit in Chicago was a 30 minute lay over on the way home from California I have a 2...

For my friends getting stuck in airports these days... if you've only got the $15 from Southwest like I did Saturday and Sunday, Billy Goat Tavern on Concourse A across from gate 5 at Chicago Midway is an absolutely solid joint.

Great breakfast sammie Sunday morning, great burger & fries Monday morning. The kitchen is close enough to judge, and I've worked a lot of kitchens; good communication between staff both at the calm 5am and busy 10:30am times. It was clean and efficient. The woman at the reg called 'em, the boys on the hot line got things moving, the woman on the cold assembly made sure I got what I wanted on the burger...

Fries were fresh, crispy outside and soft inside. Didn't need ketchup, but was still good with ketchup.

I got stuck for 40 hours, fam. When I say I needed something to ground me from all that anxiety... This was it. Dependable service, dependable quality. If I ever find myself in Midway again, I will actually walk from another...

This has become my go-to restaurant at Midway airport. Airports are always a place that soak you to the max, with restaurant prices bordering on the obscene. At the Billy Goat you can get good food at what for an airport is a very reasonable price. It's actually not a bad price outside the airport. My burger was very tasty. I got a double burger with cheese added lettuce, onion, and mayo. Added some fries. Entire damage was $12.77. try replicating that in any airport in America. I bet you can't do it. Quick update. I hit the billy goat on my way back too. This time I tried the grilled chicken sandwich which was well seasoned and juicy. The last picture is of that meal. If you don't want to spend a fortune on airport food definitely should be your go-to.
