Usually don't have too much to say about airport food but this place was so bad in all aspects. DO NOT GO HERE.
Small personal pan pizzas. Pretty basic and should be quick and easy. Boy was I wrong. Ordered 1 sausage pizza and fries. After I ordered the line was maybe 20 people long. It took over 40 MINUTES to get ONE 8" pizza and fries. Had to sprint to my gate. While waiting I saw the boxes piling up at the pickup window, noone seemed to know what was going on, despite even a manager there.
When I did get my food, I noticed it was the 2 boxes that had been sitting there for 15 MINUTES! Pizzas are cheese based and frozen and the cook puts the topping (meats) on and it rolls thru a conveyor pizza oven, should take 5 minutes tops. But whatever disorganization was going on was beyond horrible.
I didnt have any high reservations about airport pizza, but it was horrible. Totinos microwave pizza is 10x better. Pizza was about 8" round, edges dry and too hard to eat (probably from sitting for over 20 minutes before handing it out), worse than the cheapest frozen pizza at the dollar general.
Fries were soft soggy, and bland, topped with generic salty nacho cheese sauce (that was also cold and congealed from sitting on the pickup window for 20 minutes) and just dumped artificial bacon bits on top.
Again, I don't expect anything gourmet, but over $30 and waiting over 40 minutes for a cold hard pizza and soggy congealed cheese fries made me hate this airport and almost miss my flight.
DO NOT GO HERE, (unless you have 2 hours to kill and want to spend that time...
Read moreI am writing this note from Midway Airport where I just had a disappointing encounter with one of your bartenders in the B gate. I asked for 2 cups of ice to pour over the breast milk bottles I am traveling with to ensure that they remain cool. Your bartender (short, black woman with a light skin complexion and long blondish sew-in/wig) refused to give me a second small cup of ice unless I purchased something.
I told her I would purchase juice, she then stated that it had to be alcohol and turned her back to me and walked away. As I was trying to explained that I cannot drink alcohol because I am nursing a baby. She was rude and condescending. Her behavior, in front of other customers, was embarrassing for the company.
I also asked another staff person who was working the registers to allow me to speak with a manager. The staff person commented "I don't know of where she is." Your staff needs better training.
Many people these days are stressed. I don't know the bartender's back story. She may have been having a horrible day. Neverthess, her behavior was unkind, unwarranted and embarrassing. It costs nothing to be kind. The funny thing is, I was fully prepare to purchase the juice and to tip her as I know times are rough. Her behavior, regardless of her day, was...
Read more$22 for a mimosa in a plastic cup. Worst money I've spent. When I said, you should let people know it's $22 for mimosa, bartender said "I should have asked for a menu". Beware of this scam.
Furthermore - I did ask for a menu for the "seasonal drinks" that were advertised on the standing billboard next to bar (which enticed me to sit down in the first place). The bartender gave me this small specialty menu, then frantically started looking for the recipe cards. There were NO PRICES on this small special menu. When I realized the bartender clearly didn't know how to make any of the specialty drinks, I opted for a mimosa. Despite cocktails being shown in real glassware on their marketing boards, I was served in a plastic cup with no less than the cheapest sparkling wine and fake orange juice -one of those OJ shelf-stable concentrates for bars, like sweet and sour mix. I've paid for specialty cocktails at that price, where care and effort are poured into each recipe - but this mimosa should have been MAYBE $7. Let's be clear the only $22 mimosa worth buying is a bottomless one. The only reason this place stays in business is because they don't post their prices and sucker travelers like me. Fool me once, I've learned my lesson now, always ask for the price before they...
