EL G-FE — Restaurant in Lake Township

Came here on a Tuesday night around 7:30ish. My friends and I were seated immediately. The restaurant is on the smaller side. I remember it used to be a Pepe's years ago. The menu is very seafood heavy. Even the complimentary salsa they bring to the table has seafood in it, aka ceviche. I don't eat seafood so 🤷🏾‍♀️. They have a drink menu and the drinks look really good on the menu and it makes you want to try them all. I thought the prices were a tad bit too high once we tried them. No alcohol or very little.

We all opted for quesobirria tacos. It came with 4 tacos and consumé. The tacos were just alright. I've had better birria. And for $17 you only get tacos. No beans, no rice. Just tacos. My friends also said they were just alright. The drinks were good. Not strong, just good. If you regularly consume alcohol, you're going to be disappointed. There was no buzz. After a while, I felt like I was drinking a slushie. And when they melted completely, it felt like I was drinking syrup. My friends said the same thing. I also had fries. They were really good.

All in all, I probably won't be back. Not a terrible experience. Worth a try, not a return. The manager was nice. He was friendly...

4/11 I called the location to set reservations for 5/5 I was advised none were needed, I called back and said 5/5 is Cinco de mayo so I wound prefer a reservation, I was advised it has to be a party of 6 So I booked for 6 people 5/5 at 630pm The man over the phone took my name and phone number

5/5 I called because I didn't receive a text reminder I provided my name and phone number and was told I didn't have a reservation I was confuse because I knew for a FACT I had reservations I advised the manager I indeed had a reservation & I even have proof ( I pulled my phone bill) that I called on 4/11 and could send that to her. She was very nonchalant

I advised her we had people coming from out of town for this reservation & one person was a restaurant reviewer.

I was advised they were fully booked I asked what could be done for the inconvenience because I made a reservation, this is not my error I was advised to walk in and hopefully I can get seated . I live 55 minutes away hence why I set reservations

The service was great when we went. Considering they were very busy, we were seated fairly quickly and got the chips and dip immediately but it did take a little while to be able to finally order. I think the price was reasonable for what we got. The drinks are $4.95 for horchata and it tasted good as well as the size was 32oz (I suggest to ask for light ice). Once we ordered the ceviche came out within 15 minutes. I do feel that it needed a little more freshness to it for example, the shrimp you can tell wasn’t within cooler temperatures that makes it get a more lemony flavor to it but it was still at the mark for the correct temp zone.
