I recently stopped by El Kaporal Restaurant and was blown away by how flavorful and satisfying the food was. I ordered two asada gorditas, and every bite was pure joy. The gorditas came generously filled with tender, perfectly seasoned carne asada, topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, and a good dollop of sour cream. The balance of textures was spot on, the crispness of the vegetables, the creamy tang from the sour cream, and the slight chewiness of the gordita shell worked in perfect harmony.
But what truly elevated the meal was the molcajete salsa they served on the side. It was a dark, smoky salsa that packed a ton of flavor without overwhelming the palate. It had this rich depth to it, almost like it had been slow-roasted or fire-grilled, and it brought the entire dish together in a way that felt both rustic and bold. You could taste the care put into it, and it complemented the asada beautifully.
The gordita itself deserves a mention, it wasn’t greasy or too thick like at some places. Instead, it was soft but slightly crisp on the outside, fresh, and made to perfection. This place knows what they’re doing in the kitchen. Can’t wait to come back and try more...
Read moreDelicious, flavorful food with heaping portions well worth the price point. They have salsa negra which I've never had before, but became a quick fan of. I ordered the #2 Kaporal Combo which comes with a steak burrito, a chicken tostada, a steak taco, as well as a side of rice and beans. I usually stick to red meat when getting dishes like this, but the chicken was so well-seasoned I wish I had 2 tostadas. The tostada shell was also the perfect mix of pliable and crunchy. The burrito isn't a full-sized one (of course) but it came with steak, lettuce, tomato, and beans. They allowed me to upgrade my taco meat to cabeza, and it was melt in your mouth tender. I'm also relatively sure the tortillas are made in house, they were divine. I would 100% come back, if I lived in the area I'd be tempted to come daily. They also have house made ice cream, I got the mango and Oreo. Mango was flavorful and had swirls of chamoy. The Oreo ice cream was creamy and the perfect...

I ordered lengua tacos and when I went to pay the prices were almost double from the menu price. The cashier said that it's on the menu that prices can change without notice, which I understand but you should let your customers know if the prices change while ordering. It just seems like there are purposely bating their customers for the low prices on their menu and charge more after the fact. If the price of the meat varies a lot, they should change it to 'market price' instead that way customers can ask for the price of the day. Never returning to this...
