El Sombrero is one of those places where you will be coming back once you experience the feeling of having real Mexican food. Located inside the Super Mall in the neighborhood of West Elsdon, a block away from the CTA Orange Line station. As soon you step inside this iconic landmark of Chicago the Super Mall, you will be instantly welcomed by the pleasant smell of delicious food. Follow your most important sense of the human body, the sense of smell and you wont miss it... Or Just go to the left as soonest you walk inside the Super Mall. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the most friendly staff with a smile. Place your order and go find a seat. The menu is colorful with lots to choose from but once again this being my first time here I ordered the top meal, two Asada tacos with everything and one medium horchata. The price was good, for what i got. And what i got was a show of its own, i was able to sit at the bar right in front of the main stage That is the kitchen and i was able to see how they made the food right in front of my own eyes. Se me hacia agua la boca watching how they were making a masterpiece of a taco. Once i got them. it was over right there. Perfection in front of you. Came here to get 2 quesadillas with beef and 4 flautas with chicken. When came to grab my food roaches were on the counter top almost inside my plate… the quesadillas had hair inside that was long. When came to show them they didn’t seem to care and took the plate and started taking other customers order. Will never come back to this place again. I understand roaches come and go but having them by your food is very disturbing. We didn’t even eat the food what a waste of money. Def lost a client for sure.
