The Orange Line — Restaurant in Lake Township

Upon reading other reviews it looks like others have had a similar experience. Don’t go here - over priced and rude service is a bad combo.

I have never received such rude service from a restaurant, ever.

I ordered a salad from the to-go stand. The woman said it would take about 10-15 minutes, so I went inside to sit at the bar while I waited for it to come out. The bartender walked up with a food menu to which I said - no thank you, I just ordered over there (pointing to the to go stand).

He immediately snapped and told me I could not sit there. I continued pulling out my laptop and went on to tell him I was happy to order a drink at the bar, but I was cut off by him telling me I needed to leave again and this area was for paying customers only. It was extremely embarrassing, especially since I was a paying customer AND was even going to order another drink since I was sitting at the bar. I understand if their policy is not to allow people with to go orders to sit there, but there was a much more polite way to communicate that - especially as someone who was more than willing to grab a drink...

Came in and was greeted by an amazing guy. His name is Antoine and not only did he recommend the best food on the menu to us but he was very personable, relatable, and made the whole experience that much better. His attitude was nothing short of absolutely stupendous and awesome. Held a true and genuine smile, was very charismatic, and especially after being on an early plane ride with no breakfast before we landed in Chicago we were all tired and grumpy and feeling some jet lag. Regardless of that he greeted us with an amazing smile, great attitude and safe to say it affected each of us for the positive and made us more positive for just speaking with him. Honestly just an amazing man in this world. If you ever read this then know we are very thankful Antoine and hope you keep just being the amazing person you are. Thank you...

They seemed decent from afar so I ordered at the counter and sat down. Then they ejected me and my spouse from the restaurant because we didn't order at the table. They should ask "Is this for here or to go?" if they are going to kick people out for not ordering in their preferred way. Not only that, but the woman at the counter was extremely rude. She was eating food when I first ordered and acted like I was interupting her. Then, when I picked up the food, her exact words were "You can't eat that here." Not, "I'm sorry, it's kind of a weird policy, but because you ordered here, you can't actually sit at one of our (MANY empty) tables."

I've worked low wage jobs before. I've worked stressful jobs before. That's no excuse to be unkind to others. I'd recommend staying away...
