I'm shocked to see the negative reviews of this place. We ate dinner at Pour House last night while waiting for our flight. We looked around at a bunch of different menus and this had the most variety, especially for me as a vegetarian. I ordered the Grilled Vegetable Crudite and my boyfriend ordered the TRU Burger with house chips and house steak sauce on the side. We chose not to get any cocktails as they were pretty pricey ($12-17), but they did look and sound delicious. Our server, John, was attentive, friendly, helpful and speedy. Our food came out within 15 minutes and John pulled another table over so we could place our laptop/ipad/phones on it while eating. John came over and checked on us a couple of times while eating. Both of us devoured our meals (I especially love Boursin cheese which came with my dish), and dipping the house chips in the house steak sauce was also yummy...I even asked what the sauce consisted of so I could make it at home. Once finished, John came over with the bill and explained how to use the credit card machine (was a bit more confusing than most). We were in and out of there in less than 40 minutes and complemented John on his wonderful service! I will say, the cups and plates used were all disposable, but figured this was just in case you had to run to your flight and take your drink/food with you. All in all, great food and service! We will be back next time we fly out of Midway....
Read moreI usually don’t do this, but I just had an AWFUL experience! I ordered a citrus mule - received drinks, and immediately noticed there were no signs of grapefruit juice or ginger syrup (the two ingredients that inspired me to order). However, there was a strong pineapple flavor present. I asked my server, “Did you accidentally bring me the wrong drink? I don’t taste any grapefruit or ginger, but it seems like there’s pineapple in it.” The waiter says, as if it isn’t an issue, “Yeah, we’re out of grapefruit juice, so we substituted with pineapple.” Trying to remain calm, especially as the only black person in the place, I shared, “Sir, I’m allergic to pineapples.” He responds, and with a slight attitude, we’ll do you want me to grab you something else?” I nicely said, “No.” He grabbed the drink and walked away. I called him bad to give him a tip, “If ever you need to substitute an ingredient, you should first check with the customer.” He, still unapologetic, said ok and walked...
Read moreThey were out of several items on their already limited menu and the food we did order and received was cold. It was overpriced, which I expected, but the quality was bad and service even worse. Waiter came and cleared our dishes after we had already been finished for 10 minutes or so, and then finally had to be flagged down for our check after another 15 minutes of waiting. I was never offered a refill on my drink even though my glass was empty at the beginning of my meal. They were not busy at all which should have been a warning, as we chose this restaurant because the other sit down places were packed and we didn't want to wait for a seat. There may not be a lot of options at the airport, but don't waste your time...
