So, this was my first time to this Pepes, and I would have given it at least 4 stars, if it wasnât for the customer service.
The food tasted fine. I got there a little later than they asked, which should have given them plenty of time to have my ordered prepared, but I could see they were busy and didnât, so I didnât get too frustrated with that. I used to work in the restaurant business, and now Iâm in sales and service, so I get it. I was patient.
However, before I left, I did check my order (because I understand how chaotic things can be when youâre busy and how you can easily overlook things), and noticed that my Mexican coke which I asked for over the phone and confirmed before we got of the phone, was not there. When I went and inquired about it, they said they didnât charge me, and I could buy it then (thatâs fine, itâs a mistake, I get it). However, I noticed there wasnât any in the cooler, so they said they would have to get me a warm one from the back (again, youâre busy, I get it, itâs hard to restock, so thatâs fine).
Then when i proceed to pay with the same card I just paid with (they have you pay for your order before you get your food), the lady informs me itâs going to be $15. WHAT?!?! 15$??? I saw the sign originally when I placed my first order and saw they only takes cards when the order is $15 or more. Mine was easily over $30, so I wasnât worried. But I understood they did this to offset the cost of processing the payments.
However, I looked back at her and asked âseriously???....YOU messed up MY order, wouldnât have known had I not double checked, want to give me a warm coke instead, and now have me pay the $15?? When I JUST swiped my card for $30???â
She looked at me and said âyes.â I asked how much it was if I just paid cash and she said $2.68 or something like that. Thatâs when I looked at all the other customers listening, we all laughed, and I walked away, and had to explain to my very patient wife who waited longer than we were told through all of this why I could not get her rare and hard to find Mexican coke, because these jokers wanted to charge us $15 for it, after I already drive 15 minutes to this location (there were closer ones) to offer my business to them since I know theyâve been hit hard from the current crisis in our city.
What a joke, donât think Iâll be driving out of my way again to give this establishment my business. Terrible customer service. Itâs a bummer to though, cuz their food is actually...
Read moreUpdate 8/22/20.... I went back to this location about a month ago for the avocado taco dinner. I was extremely disappointed. We only received a few avocado slices. The guacamole was brown. We ordered 2 separate dinners, asked for 2 bags of peppers and only received 1 bag. I asked for a separate order of refined beans with extra cheese. You pay extra for extra cheese. Well I failed to check my order before leaving. There was NO cheese on my refried beans, let alone the extra cheese that I paid extra for. And we only received 2 packets of hot sauce. I have since thrown away this menu and crossed them off my PePe's Tacos list. Will not return. I live on the SE side of the city and have since found a cheaper, much better tasting PePe's. And they have my favorite avocado taco dinner!
They have the best sliced avocado taco dinners at this location.. A friend recently turned me on to the avocado tacos and I've been getting them ever since. I haven't eaten any chicken or beef in the last 6weeks... No special reason. After about 4 days I realized I hadn't had any meat and I started feeling better and now 6wks later still no meat. Been eating more fish. So when my friend suggested we order from Pepe's, I couldn't possibly imagine what I would eat. I LOVE TACOS!! She's a vegetarian and suggested the avocado tacos since that's what she eats. They are delicious and extremely filling. I normally eat avocados by themselves, sliced with sea salt, lemons, and limes freshly squeezed. I just never imagined avocados in "taco form". Anyway, delicious! I must admit I'm not sure if all Pepe's serve avocado tacos. You would have to inquire at your location. But this one does and it's my favorite. By the way, avocados are extremely healthy for you and I lose weight when I eat them regularly. I guess my body needs the healthy fats avocados hold....
Read moreBeen coming here my whole life, this used to be my favorite location. Service was horrible Iâve never seen the workers just sit and kick it at the tables just watching customers not a greeting or nothing! The heavy set waitress was ok until my friend and I ordered the âmargarita special â for Tuesday & Sunday, I guess we were being âcheapâ Iâm not sure but her attitude rapidly declined she walked away with a deep sigh to get our drinks. My friends chicken tacos were wrong I saw her take them to the kitchen , the cook shrugged his shoulders with a so what motion then they attempted to up charge her to correct it. I asked for steak and bean burrito suizo dinner. It took me a sec to see what was off⌠why are there green peppers and onions in it??? Because itâs cheap frozen steakums meat!!!! I was so disgusted then realized my beans were missing. Waitress thought Iâd just accept it, no. It was remade as I watched all the cooks in the back staring over my plate and laughing at it with whoever was remaking it, after 2 bites I was sick and we left, after silently sitting for 20 mins waiting on our waitress who was sitting 3 tables over watching us NOT EAT not once did she ask if everything was ok or are you finished? I eventually had to wave her over so we can go. Atmosphere was insane I thought a customer came in playing music on their phone, it was the cook playing young jeezy on repeat over the music playing in the restaurant. If these are not new owners and it has been passed down this is a true failure to what Iâve known from this location. Save yourself the trouble go to the 63rd location great food, service and the man making the drinks is great!!!! Never coming back to 116...
