Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Worth Township

On 2/25/2025, I ordered one mild thigh and a large red beans and rice. When I got to work and went to lunch, to my disappointment the thigh was old and dry and the biscuit was hard. Somebody wrote in their review that the biscuits were hot and buttery, we all know that’s a lie. The biscuits are never buttered. I called management and he told me to bring it back for another piece. When I looked at my receipt after I was done on the phone, I noticed that the ripoff cashiers charged me for a 2pc instead of just one thigh. When I returned, I showed the manager. He immediately insist that I ate a piece. If I’m given one old dry piece of chicken, I guarantee you they would have given me two old dry pieces. Which one old piece would not have been eaten. When I told him I’d rather not have chicken in return can I get a few apple pies. He gave me two apple pies, but that didn’t equal my $6 I paid for a 2pc chicken alone. This Popeye’s needs to be closed. I will NEVER PATRONIZE this Popeye’s at 12100 S Western Ave in Blue Island, IL if I lived next door to it EVER AGAIN. I may consider contacting FDA to go there for a food inspection. This is horrible to sell food to anyone like that. Your restaurant is going to make someone seriously sick. DO NOT EAT HERE! I made a mistake and ordered from this location through Door Dash (I live near a really good one in Chicago, and I didn't notice this one was 6 miles away). The chicken arrived undercooked, a bit raw inside and the skin's crust still doughy - so you know it wasn't fried long enough. You can tell it wasn't seasoned either. The mashed potatoes looked disgusting through the lid, like old KFC potatoes. No veggies and meat in the heavy like I'm used to from Popeye's. The mac and cheese looked terrible as well. The only thing edible was the apple pie, and it still was 3 stars (barely any pie filling). Door Dash sent me a redelivery, and I hate I waited a second too late because I would have much rather gotten a refund. Sure enough, there was nothing different with the second delivery. I reported it again and got a full refund.

I then called the location to alert them because this is a health hazard. All they kept assuring me of was that the order was fresh. That is not the point! It is not cooked long enough!!! My son and I went to this restaurant tonight after a very long rehab day at work! we didn't want to come home and cook so we went to popeyes to order dinner, after we cleaned up and then went to eat our food about an hour later, it was not what I ordered, I ordered spicy chicken and it was not, I ordered red beans and rice as a side and it was the worst red beans and rice that I have ever had from a popeyes, mostly rice, very very little red beans, making it very very DRY!! After spending $14 dollars for dinner, I didn't get what I ordered, very disappointed; I called the restaurant to complain about my meal and that it wasn't what I ordered and all the manager could tell me was to get in my car and dry 15 minutes to bring it back tonight.....really??? been working ALL DAY, I'm tired and I have to get up and drive BACK to popeyes and return the chicken that was NOT what I ordered......no, "mam' I'm really sorry, I'll write your name down and replace the meal for you the next time you are in the area" I didn't ask for a replacement on my son's meal because his was right, mine was horrible!! and the customer service from the manager was even WORST!!!!
