Rosa's Tamales #2 — Restaurant in Lake Township

I shouldve follewed my first instinct and went to the other tamale spot on Cicero.

I could give Rosa's Tamales zero stars, I would. I see why you have to pay with cash. I came to this place before and their tamales were good, so I decided to come back. However, I specifically told the lady with the ponytail that I wanted 1 dz. 6 chicken and 6 cheese and jalapeño. I paid and went to my car. When my husband and I got ready to eat, we noticed it was only chicken. I went back and advised she only gave me 6 chicken, she acted dumbfounded as if she no longer understood me. She assisted 2 other customers, and then asked a guy to translate to tell me that they had no more cheese and jalapeño.

Needless to say I was upset, and definitely requested my money back. I thanked the gentleman but I definitely will not be going back here. She should've told me in the beginning that she was out of cheese and...

We went to try the tamales because it seemed to be a popular location the green chicken tamales didn’t really have a spice or flavor to it and the chicken was overcooked. So the tamale was not to my expectations. Now if you don’t like spice then give it a try the price is decent for a dozen (12 ) tamales it’s 15 plus tax came out to 17 bucks Now we also got 2 pork , 2rajas 8 chicken. And we agreed and the bland size for flavor. But for home cook meals that’s why it’s a 3. People are friendly but I’m looking for more of an authentic spice in the tamales. Me and my sister went and my sister paid with her card and the first time it declined and the lady loudly said “you don’t have enough money” and we were shocked because we’ve never had an experience like this.
