Well I've been coming here for a little while I usually get the steak burritos, the steak just has no taste to it whatsoever, you know you're supposed to season steak, not just take raw steak with no seasoning and put it on the grill and cook it, you need to have some seasoning, the steak needs to taste good. As far as I'm concerned it's just another Mexican restaurant burrito place. Nothing really wild to talk about here. I've had the other platters they're okay I've had their chicken their chicken is flavored with something I just wish they would do that with their steak. And the steak burrito there isn't a lot of steak on the burrito it's very small for💸 $14 and some change.🪙 I always tell friends and family and even workers of mine to go to these independent places and get a good meal, but if you can't even taste the meat cuz there's no taste then why should i, now I know why everyone goes to Taco Bell. 🤷🤦 I gave it two stars because it's lucky it got that, definitely can't give it even three. No taste in the steak and a small quantity for a $15 burrito. I don't think I'll be coming back anymore I've seen enough and I've tasted quite a bit of their different food. I see that Italian pasta bowl up the street from them just south of them on Clark is pretty good., at least there I can get a big bowl of pasta for a decent price. The workers are nice inside, but nice workers don't make for "good...
Read moreI walked past this place a few times over the last few weeks and told myself I’d try it asap. There’s something about spots like this that scream “try me bc I’m def better than most of the other restaurants around me”. I’m glad I tried it because the food was very rich in flavor, and price was amazing for what you get. Meat was tender and lots of great options to choose from on the menu.
Read the following part with a grain of sand : I gave this restaurant 5 stars. I believe it’s a 5 star restaurant based on the merit given above. However, I feel it’s necessary to add that I got very sick almost immediately after finishing my steak California style burrito. Now the reason I didn’t start the review with this is because me getting sick could be due to numerous factors, such as what I ate for lunch earlier in the day that may not have sat well with the contents in the burrito. I’m not sure if it’s the meat that made me sick, or the fries inside the burrito. Lots of external factors to consider - so I’m not blaming this restaurant for getting me sick because I don’t know if that’s fair. But I did get sick and throw up all the food. This is the first time in my life that’s ever happened to me and I don’t deal with any allergies either. My friend had a few steak tacos and he did...
Read moreIt’s ok. Don’t think I’ll be coming back. The burrito is alright, but definitely nottttt that good for the price ($9 for a small???).
Owner seems extremely convinced that visitors are going to rob the place, so there’s posters up all over reminding you that there are cameras, and a GIGANTIC TV SCREEN WITH ALL THE CAMERAS IN THE RESTAURANT ON IT. I was literally watching myself eat an okay-ish, overpriced burrito in high definition the entire time I was there. It’s incredibly uncomfortable, and just really weird to see in LINCOLN PARK of all places lmfaoooo.
Tipping is also pushed for. Heavily. If your mediocre burritos are $9 for a SMALL BURRITO, and chips and salsa are $5 for a small thing, you can ABSOLUTELY afford to pay your employees a much better wage and remove tipping. Will not be coming back until that happens. This gives very heavy vibes of “I ‘started’ this restaurant but I pay a bunch of people low wages to do all the work for me, and I’m incredibly afraid that they’ll ‘steal’ from me cause I’m paying them so little.” Again I do not know whether this is the case or not, I just heavily got that vibe. And I do not patronize businesses that...
