The hardest thing for my wife about being pregnant is not being able to come to Apero. It's our happy place! Robert and his staff are the absolute best, he's so incredibly passionate about the wine he sells, and genuinely wants to make sure you enjoy your experience.

All the wine they sell is natural wine, so you get a very different selection than you'd see at any other restaurant or wine bar - it's a great spot to learn more about natural wine and expand your palate - especially those funky oranges!

They have a fantastic hidden-gem of a patio, and we've spent plenty of beautiful evenings out there splitting a bottle of wine.

The vibe is perfect for a wine bar - it's quaint, energetic, romantic, and authentic all at the same time. Highly highly highly recommend!!

Our experience was truly exceptional at Apero. Zander took care of me and my party and we were all so extremely impressed by him, his vibe and his food/wine knowledge! He took the time to carefully and thoroughly explain everything he brought to the table and he was by nature very funny, entertaining and easy to get along with. The cheese charcuterie board and the wines were truly fabulous from start to finish. Zander’s recommendations for each wine were individualized to every member of the party based on how we described our tastes/desires and he nailed it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will absolutely be returning any time we come to Chicago in the future!!!! I just hope Zander is there to take care...
