I came here to work on a Sunday afternoon, and it is just the kind of place I have been looking for. They have a nice (thought not particularly wide or diverse) selection of teas. (I donāt know the coffee because I havenāt had any yet.) I got some quiche that was oven (not microwave) heated and it was excellent, served even with a little side of fruit (a nice touch, though unsolicited; it was a bit slow and the person working the counter seemed to be feeling friendly).
In terms of environment, this place really has two kinds of cafe in one. There is one area, pictured in their main photo, which is more spacious and have smaller 2-person tables, great for people who need rigid work spaces. I like the back corner, pictured below, since I like spreading out some on a comfy amongst some clutter. (Feels very midwestern, which is comforting and reminiscent of home.) It was generally quiet and great for working, and the person working told me itās generally this quiet.
Overall, a lovely spot. I will surely be back here to get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWant to love because it's a local small business, but the service we had was lackluster. The decor is eclectic the outdoor seating is great however it just feels this place has passed it's prime. The woman who took our order seemed burdened by the work even though we were the sole customers. She didn't know what the 'coffee of the day' was. I ordered a pour over (typo on the laminated sign) and she didn't know how, humorously she filled the filter with grounds and quickly poured about 25 ounces of boiling water into the basket which overflowed with grounds all over the counter and over the brim of the 16 ounce cup. She realized the sleeve was drenched but rather than start over she awkwardly attempted to put a dry sleeve over it's sopping wet predecessor, spilling more, and then served the cup of hot water and coffee grounds like the whole ordeal is her norm.. I can only assume/hope she was filling in for someone, but that doesn't make our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe service is great and the coffee is excellent. Today when I went there, there was a woman ahead of me with a terrible cough. The older woman who always works the counter noticed her cough, so when she gave the lady her sandwich, she also gave her a cup of ginger tea with lemon to soothe her throat. Not only did she give her the tea for free, but she also gave her a few packets of tea to take home with her. I thought that was really nice of her. You can't find quality service that in a coffee house chain like Starbucks or Peet's. I highly recommend this place. Its a cute little coffee shop with great service. Its one of those places you can sit in for hours while working on your laptop or reading. They even have a little desk in the seating area for customers looking to get some work done. There is also...
