Read Before Visiting
This has been by far the worst experience I however experience here. I am a regular customer of this facility and and have spent lots of money here. After my visit tonight I may never ever return to this pub & grub. There's been a couple occasions where I have visited this location at 2a-2:30am like most customers. It seems that most of the time I visit this location security(mainly Bill Will) are detouring customers from entering at the early 2am hour. My friends and I visit this location on 8/28/22 at just about 2:30a and yet again security officer(Bill Will) stood outside to stop customers from entering stating that the restaurant and bar was closed/not taking anymore which I found quite odd because this location closes at 3:00 a.m. This night my friends and I called over the phone to place an order but after arriving it appeared that the order was never put in with the worker. We stated to security officer(Bill Will) that we called in place an order so he allowed us in. Due to the person not properly placing the order over the phone the cashier proceeded to place our order. Moments later the security officer(Bill Will) came up to my friends and I in disrespected Us by calling us stupid and using profanity slurs. I asked him what was the issue and he stated I told you all we weren't placing any orders anymore and you all are playing stupid. This behavior is totally unacceptable and I hold management responsible for allowing the security officers to speak to there customers that way. After the very disrespectful & unprofessionalism conversation I had with Bill Will, I requested to speak to the manager. I spoke with manager(Tegan) and explain to him the situation and ask for clarifications what time the restaurant close and what was the last time that orders could be placed. Tegan, was unclear on the time and gave me several times for the cut off time for oders to be taken as if he had just made up a time and eventually said 2:45am is the last orders taken. He had a very nonchalant personality and didn't display any sense of empathetic on helping the situation so I requested for the district managers information. The behavior at this facility is totally unacceptable and there needs to be some change on Management's part as well as security! Read moreI have never posted a review on a restaurant in my life. My recent experience at this establishment has upset me greatly. I understand servers and bartenders and people in general have a bad day but today was different. My wife and I love this restaurant and even went so far as to request information on franchising. Myself and my grandfather-in law sat down and talked numbers. The owner literally stayed at my grandfather in laws home in Arizona to scout future business endeavors. My wife and I came back home to Chicago for a wedding and went to a Cubs game. After the game we decided to visit one of our favorite food places, Cheesies. However, we did not know we would be treated the way we did. My wife sat down as I used the restroom. She asked the bartender if she knew the owner and if he was present to say hey. I came back and we ordered out food. After receiving our food, we ordered drinks. My wife was refused a drink and I was given one without hesitation. After this I asked why my wife was not given a drink and Spencer, the bartender informed me that she was slurring her words and did not need a drink. My wife hadn't had a drink since the 4th inning of the Cubs game. I asked again for him to serve my wife a drink and he refused after giving me my drink. I informed the bartender of my displeasure with the service my wife was receiving and he continued to deny her a drink. Between asking him a second time and finishing our food, about 7 to 9 minutes had passed and we had not seen him. When he finally walked by, I asked him for our bill and refused my drink in disgust for his mistreatment of my wife. He then explained that he will comp our food for the inconvenience and misconception. I love my city and this restaurant. However, I have never been anywhere where my wife has been disrespected the way she was. The disrespect and mistreatment was so blatant and obvious that, when we walked out, a couple customers clapped as we walked out. I absolutely hate politics and respect every race, ethnicity and sexual preference. I have never felt more hate in my life. The political climate has changed this bartender. The manager, Chris, walked up and stuck up for his bartender. As a former manager, I would have never condoned this treatment. Read moreCHECK YOUR FINAL BILL AT THIS PLACE, MAKE SURE ITS RIGHT. I've had such a... mixed experience here. Every time I've gone to this location something was bad. The first time we had a bartender who just didn't care, he didn't greet us, didn't acknowledge us at all even though he passed us many times helping others. Eventually he basically tossed a menu at us and came back when he was ready. In all it was not a great first impression. We later spoke to a different bartender who said she usually works on Wednesdays and she was super lovely, I wish she would have taken care of us instead.
Unfortunately the website for cheesies apparently isn't updated regularly cause the next 4 Wednesdays consecutively I've tried to go to participate in their Game Night. The first time I find out it's every other week, even though the website says every week. The second time it was canceled, but they say they might do it the next week. Third time I come in and I'm told it's every other week so I must have been given bad information. Finally the 4th week I come in and it's canceled again. The young lady who is typically there on Wednesday took such great care of us though. She has seen us try to participate in game nights for all this time and she took great care of us, I cannot compliment her enough.
Next we come back, because even though all this was annoying, the happy hour deals are great, and we like the people who have taken care of us since that first man. But the only happy hour beer us out. And remains to be out for at least a week, I'm assuming longer. At this point it's difficult to justify going because the deals were good and now they're not avalible.
Finally the worst experience, I try to pay online and the bill presented online is completely different than the paper one, both of them have wrong information on them! The subtotal is different, the tax added is different, the prices for some of the items are different! When we show this to the manager, he seemed genuinely suprised but his reaction was "oh that is crazy I don't know why that's happening, are you paying with card or cash?" I was pretty disappointed in that lack of customer service.
