The pizza was just OK. Certainly not worth $36 for the Grandma Style pizza. There were 6 slices, and for 2 hungry people, they were gone quickly. With a price like that, I would expect more food. I'm used to large pizzas costing around $25, and those are bigger! For example, one of my favorite pizzas from Austin TX (Home Slice) is $23 for a very large, substantial pizza. This cost $13 more than that, and it just wasn't as good. Recently, I got great pizza in San Diego, and that was cheaper, tastier, and more food.
The pizza was pretty dry, and I'm not sure what others are raving about. I've had better home-made pizza from Trader Joe's dough thrown together in 20 minutes. It wasn't BAD, it just wasn't amazing. I got the half/half Vodka and Veggie. The veggie half was pretty good, but not incredible.
When I get pizza from a restaurant, my test for if it is worth it is "Is this better than frozen pizza?" And sadly this one was not. I would have better enjoyed a $8 frozen pizza.
Also, I placed an online order for 6:15 PM, and didn't leave the store until 6:25. I was in sort of a rush, so when I place an order for a set time, I expect it be ready at that time. The workers seemed pretty frazzled and it wasn't the most comfortable...
Read moreAwful pizza. Tomato paste is a sauce starter. Not the sauce. I should have gone to 7/11. They have better pizza. I should have known it was awful when all of Market Days had exited a d the place was still empty... And absolutely no Detroit style. Don't besmirch Detroit's good name. I'm from the area. And this is not Detroit...
Read moreGood pizza, got the grandma style. It was sweet and light, looked pretty and smelled good. My wife told me such a story about it. It was about a Facebook group where they talked about it and how the owners go above and beyond with the service. I thought that was nice, but what about the pizza? Fast forward about one week later and we order it on a Sunday night. It smells great in the car. Location right by the train. Apparently a young guy in there said it was his third time this week and he goes for the $3.99 slice. She thought that was weird but I don’t think she remembers not knowing how to cook and beyond young and weird. Also, she said there were no decorations. Apparently they own the convenience store next door. It used to be a breakfast place if I remember right. So many breakfast places in Lakeview. Either way, I put hot honey on it when I ate it and had some sparkling water. It tasted good and I’m looking forward to leftovers. They come in slices, 6 or 8 slice pizzas. I thought the presentation was...
