I got full after ordering a ground beef burrito combo with beans and rice. The beans and rice are the most edible with the green and red looking sauces poured on it.If you eat them with nothing on them you're probably NOT going to like them at all.Their Ground Beef Burrito has the exact same flavorless or tasteless beans featured in it too though.I ordered their Lemonade that they make themselves for my drink. It was fair enough too at best.I used my one lime slice piece they gave me with my food and squeezed it in my drink and stirred it with my straw.I put the lime slice in it after that and it probably made it better than it was before I did that taste wise.I can't tell you about their restroom because it was an out of order sign on the door of it.They have five Dine-In tables at this location closest to my residence.Their tables was a wood design.Their chairs are more cushioned than most restaurants very shockingly for a low budget franchise restaurant. They had music in their atmosphere background wise that I didn't care for,but it was definitely Spanish language vibes exclusively on an AM or FM radio station. At least the volume wasn't a grating level like too many restaurants nowadays especially. The customer service was better than most restaurants actually very shockingly. On my subsequent visit recently,I ordered their Ground Beef Tacos (3 of them),and their Spicy French Fries crispy. The gracious woman cashier at this location made sure my fries were fried crispy because she went to the kitchen and did them herself.I really appreciate that because cashiers don't usually do that at all, period.Cashiers usually just take your order and don't care about how your order turns out.Their tacos are better than their Burrito with beans in it.A slice of avocado was on top of two out of my three tacos. My spicy fries were good and crispy.I can definitely see myself coming here again when I am desperately hungry but don't want to travel too far to go to a restaurant.Unfortunately, the table I sat again for my subsequent visit was inexcusably nasty and filthy with food crumbles on it.Their restroom with an "Out Of Order" sign on it still was also inexcusably icky too without tissue and without paper towels to dry your hands after washing them inexcusably too.I had to tell the gracious cashier about it and this issue is probably taken care of by now by the time you're reading this review. At least I think...
Read moreOverall: The service was friendly. The staff were great. The wait wasn’t too long. Clean, new, location. Cleanliness: the place was clean. I give them 4/5. They lost a star because the floor in front of the counter near the beverage dispenser was sticky. I hate that for my shoes. Service: everyone was nice and pleasant. 5/5 Food: This is the worst part. I thought from reading the reviews that they were good. My hopes were WAAY TOO HIGH! I know what ya’ll are thinking…”this is a chain place. And with a name like “Taco Pros” it certainly isn’t a taqueria. You would be correct. But, I thought I would give it a try since so many seemed to like it! I got a 3-taco combo. The price wasn’t horrible. So a plus there. I got 1 chicken and 1 steak, mexican style, add cheese and lettuce. And I got 1 shrimp mexican style with my side as rice and beans. The shrimp was okay but way too dry. I normally have some kind of sauce on the shrimp tacos i get from other taco places. This had none! Which made it hard to eat. I did not enjoy their “hot sauces.” I also got a side of onions and cilantro and lime. This is how I knew I wouldn’t be getting legitimate Mexican food. Most taco joints give you however many limes you have per tacos. Three tacos=3 limes. I had to order limes as a side! I only got 1 lime in the container. The chicken taco was just as dry and hard to swallow as the shrimp. Neither meats had any flavor. You can tell they dont marinate meat here! The steak taco I didn’t eat. The meat was a weird greyish tone that turned me off. I like my steak to be brown. And I don’t think I missed much by not eating the steak taco to be honest-since none of the other meats had any flavor. The beans were okay. How can you mess up refried beans, ya know!? But the rice…undercooked! It was either real old or not cooked all the way because it was hard. It made my beans inedible. (I like to mix my rice and beans and add cilantro and onion). Overall, I tried a new place but I was not impressed. I cannot call this anything close to an authentic Mexican food spot-so I...
Read moreI liked the food I got at Taco Pros. I was excited to see a new spot tex-mex spot in the area. Although, I wish they sold margaritas. This would be a great place to go after work.
I got the 3 taco combo with fries and a drink, the steak protein bowl and chips and guac. For my tacos I got a shrimp, chicken and barbacoa taco. I think out of the three, the shrimp was the best. The shrimp was deveined and full of flavor. Not overcooked either which is a huge issue with shrimp tacos. The chicken was also good, pretty seasoned and juicy. My only issue is that it is cut too small, kept falling out. The barbacoa was the worse one and it still wasn’t bad. I probably wouldn’t get it again though. The fries were cool, I probably would get rice and beans next time.
For the protein bowl, it had rice, tomatoes, lettuce, corn, avocado and tortilla strips and also some queso fresco. I thought the bowl was okay, next time I would take things off. Like the avocado wasn’t ripe and honestly tasted like nothing. Added nothing to the meal either. It should have been guac honestly. The tortilla strips were okay but I don’t like chips like that so I didn’t care much for it. The queso fresco was just, bad. Maybe I am not the target audience for it. But the cubes of cold cheese did not really add anything to the meal at all, it somewhat made it worse. But the rice was quite good, very good texture and decently seasoned. IMO there was not enough protein. The steak itself was good but there could’ve been at least another scoop of it.
Chips and guac/salsa were good. I like how the guac was chunky and flavorful and the salsa was very warm and flavorful. I always like places that serve warm salsa.
Overall I will come back with a different order. Nice to know this place is around if I want a different kind of tex-mex...
