PEOPLE WITH FOOD ALLERGIES BEWARE
My roommate informed the server of her nut allergy before ordering! After over 40 minutes of waiting for the food (following a 20 minute wait in line to order), we received 2 out of 4 of our food items and had to go back to have them make the 2 missed items. Once home, midway through eating, she began to have an allergic reaction & found NUTS in the eggs benedict sauce. This was very scary as nuts were NOT listed in the ingredients for the food item, and the kitchen was made aware of this food allergy prior to ordering!!!
Additionally, there is no space to wait for to go items and we found ourselves constantly shuffling out of the way of people waiting to order as well as those big metal carts being used to push a few plates across the small dining space.
There is sooo much potential; the food & drinks are unique and SO GOOD!!! I suggest crossing off unavailable menu items as there were multiple food/drink items unavailable causing last minute decision changes (which is prob why the line takes so long....). The workers were friendly but also seemed kind of confused about some things (I asked for whole milk and she told me skim milk is whole milk....). Across the board, it appears service has been a large factor in negative reviews of this cafe, so hopefully you guys can take constructive criticism to improve! Although, based on the other snarky replies to reviews from the business owner, I'm not too hopeful...
Read moreBeware if you have allergies!! I wanted to love this place. Service & design needs major improvement, but the food is good.
My friend informed the girl taking her order that she had a nut allergy, asked if her egg dish could be prepared separately and the girl did not care & was very dismissive.
I had a chocolate croissant and an iced chai for $16 which were both very good, but it did take 30 minutes to get my order which was kinda insane for one drink and a premade croissant. They were also out of a lot of things so I had to completely change my order at the last minute (wanted avocado toast and a banana milkshake originally). I’d recommend putting signage up so people in line can make other decisions.
Also the building is poorly designed for the flow of traffic. They had no ‘waiting area’ for to-go orders, so we had to keep shuffling and moving to let others through. They serve all of their dine in orders on big carts that customers have to bring to their table (even if it’s one plate) & having carts constantly going back & forth was extremely...
Read moreThis coffee was the perfect balance of tasting actual coffee that isn’t diluted mixed with some tartness. The Blueberry Coconut Matcha was light, but if you want a stronger matcha flavor, I recommend getting extra which is only $1 more. As for the pastries, I will say this was the best ham & cheese croissant I’ve ever had. Savory, nutty from the roasted seeds, and I haven’t had better. My favorite pastry I tried was the Berry Mascarpone New York Roll. Floral notes from the raspberry, flakey, and fresh. Their macarons are a little thicker, almost like mini sandwiches and were also tasty. For food, I had to try their syrniky since these are a childhood favorite of mine. I loved these so much, they’re like little farmer’s cheese pillows, paired wonderfully with those spiced cherries. Don’t sleep on this Pastrami Melt that came out all glitz and glammed up, but the looks do translate to the taste. Sweet from the mustard apple sauce and vanilla-glazed bacon, yet still stimulating familiar flavors with the Pastrami and...
