My Buddy's — Restaurant in Lake View Township

I want to like this place, and maybe I will, but it has A LOT of growing to do.

Basically, for every pro there is a con: The atmosphere has potential but it seemed small. I couldn't tell whether there was a private event in the back or what but only a few tables in the front seemed available. The staff was super friendly, but actual service was incredibly sporadic. As our meal went on the place got increasingly busier, and the staff got increasingly more chaotic! No one seemed to have a particular job. At one point there were four staff members (at least one potentially a partner) behind the tiny front bar doing the same thing. I hope they can get that sorted out soon. They'd really benefit with some experienced management.

The food has potential, but isn't great. The bun on my burger looked good, but was ultimately stale. The rest of the flavors were alright. And they can fry a decent tater tot. But my husband's cajun chicken sandwich was served on cold garlic toast and was stacked in an arbitrary fashion; neither decision really making a lot of sense. And was also mostly pickles (?) which made it even more soggy. Now that I'm typing this it: it's just a really odd sandwich.

They are very new so I realize there's a learning curve. But other reviews are going back as far as a month ago so part of me wonders why some of these things haven't been worked out yet.

I went in last night with my girlfriend and had a good time. The location of this Bar and Grill is a perfect fit for the neighborhood. Only thing is I just noticed this place two weeks ago as I was stopped at the red light. It was crowded, but we got a table ourselves. The Bears and Packers were playing their first preseason games of the year and they were playing beer pong by the DJ music both, so the place was very loud. It was all good though, the atmosphere was great. It is a long spacious bar with games and plenty of nice locals. The staff was great! Brandon was awesome. He overheard me talking about how the bar was divided into a green bay and bears section because the owners are rival fans. Lol. He knew I wanted to see the Bears game and he got us a table near the front to watch the game. Kaitlyn was a nice waitress. She could not help us when we moved. Not her fault. Food was great. Came for karaoke, got attitude from bartender. Male bartender in the back 3/6/20 preferred to serve people who would tip everytime. I gave tip money for my fiancee to give for the both of us and he only served her everytime I came to the bar. My order was only taken if no one was at the bar. My friends got the same rude treatment. Atmosphere rustic and very pleasant. DJ great. Would only come back for karaoke and get my drinks elsewhere before hand

Edit: Okay so we requested a song since 10:30 and it is currently 1:00 and are still in the waiting list. It's not terrible. I'm sure the people who got to sing placed multiple songs ahead of time so we are still waiting out turn. The DJ tends to play a "intermission" song after everyone's turn so it will take longer for anyone to get a turn. I doubt we will get our turn to sing since this place closes at 2. If I could recommend a change it would be the DJ to only have an intermission if the next singer didn't step forward. Most likely...
