Perhaps we ordered on an extremely off day; I'm not sure how else to explain the differential between our experiences and others'. We placed a large delivery order and found the food extremely disappointing across the board. We ordered some Medium & some Large boxes, which were identical sizes (despite the higher price point for Larges). The whole conceit of this restaurant is customization, so imagine our surprise when we received spaghetti for almost all of the dishes we ordered despite not selecting spaghetti for ANY of them (penne + farfalle exclusively). There was, no joke, about 1 tablespoon of sauce in each box; we basically just received numerous boxes of cold, stuck-together spaghetti. We found what little sauce there was almost indistinguishable in flavor, which is odd because we selected options that should be significantly distinct. There were also almost no toppings--literally 2 cucumbers in each of the two Large Cuedill boxes we ordered, no discernable chicken in the "Chicken Pesto" box, etc. Unfortunately, the only positives I can report are that delivery was timely and each box was packaged securely. Our order was a huge, very expensive mistake that we're unlikely to repeat.
ETA in response to owner's reply: I appreciate the apology. The order was definitely significantly wrong; I really can't speak to what occurred at the restaurant, but I would not fabricate this experience recap. I only took a photo of two of the pastas (this obviously occurred days ago and we threw out most of the order and salvaged what we could, which has been eaten). I didn't report the issues to UberEats as I believe they penalize restaurants for that. I just chalked it up to a very expensive loss. I'm attaching the one photo I did take which clearly shows you sent spaghetti instead of the pasta types we ordered. The other details I provided in my initial review stand as well. I am not able to visit the...
Read moreI just moved back to Chicago yesterday. My friend and I stopped in tonight, while on the hunt for pasta. The outside is bright and crisp and inside is so warm and inviting. I love the pasta made of art on the wall and all the little touches. Especially the pasta mascot. Super cute. The owner, Didi was so welcoming and willing to help explain the concept, which is super fun and unique. Definitely haven’t seen another place like this one anywhere. I also loved how passionately Didi spoke of his food. Aw inspiring and his love for his food is infectious because of his energy. Also, take his suggestions!! I would have never thought to put raw, baby tomatoes and broccoli (cooked, but cold) on top of ricotta pasta, but WOW! You can tell he makes his food with love. I went looking for comfort food and this place brought that. And lastly, I was originally gonna get one sauce because of how amazing he made it sound and forgot that I read that there were walnuts. He made sure to ask if I was allergic and I said yes (I won’t die, I just get eczema) and was so thankful he cared enough to ask. Restaurants and owners like Didi are a huge reason I moved back and look forward to...
Read moreBeing fans of good pasta dishes we were on the lookout to try new places. Initially heard about Pasta Fasta in a video of places to eat in Chicago & knew we had to try it when we visited! The staff are welcoming and incredibly nice! Let them know it’s your first time at Pasta Fasta & they’ll walk you through the process & make suggestions on what to try and which combos compliment each other! We ordered 3 medium pastas and it was very filling for 3 people. The chicken pesto, with chili sauce and brocoli was delicious, but the Quatro formaggi & carbonara, which chicken and chili sauce was unlike anything we’d had before. Locally owned and run by Ron & his cousin, they’ve only been open for a couple of months, but they’ve thought about everything - online menus & delivery, self ordering kiosks, and a rewards program - that’s easy to enroll in & starts earning points towards a reward immediately! If you do dine in, your pasta is served on a little farfalle shaped board! Overall, the experience and food were so wonderful, we had to experience it again on the same trip! Can’t wait to go back to Chicago to visit Pasta...
