So date night Friday turned out to be a cycling adventure. In short, considering it's been well over a year since I cycled, I didn't want to cycle any further up north from our starting point downtown, so I was happy Pho's Spicier Thai was our option to stop in this area. This was my first time here. After buying some much needed cold brews across the street, we sat down at our table where we were greeted right away with some menus.
It's small and quaint, and the wall is decorated with pictures of people that have taken up their spice challenges. My date and I immediately decided we didn't want to take part lol, so our meal choices were as far from spice as possible.
We started with the fresh spring rolls, which were just okay to me. The rolls were a little dry for my liking. For our entrees, my date ordered the Musman curry and I went with the Pad Woon Sen noodles, both with tofu, and both which we shared.
The Musman Curry was awesome! Seriously flavorful. My Pad Woon Sen noodles were also pretty good, but nothing amazing.
The service was great. The staff were all super nice. They were on it with the water refills, and they checked up on us often to make sure we were ok.
All in all, a great place for some...

Have to take another star off. Ordered delivery and asked for quite hot. There was no spice. Super frustrating.
Update: Have to take of a star due to an experience over the weekend. Myself and my friend's mom are both vegetarians. Unfortunetly, halfway through our meal my friend's mom bit into a piece of meat. It was upsetting for her and myself. We're both vegetarian due to our religion. We pointed it out and asked them to be more careful, but the apology didn't feel like they cared much or were too concerned about the meat in the food. My friend's mom gave the food to her son to eat since he eats meat. It's frustrating cause this is one of my favourite restuarants to eat from for thai food.
I love the food here. And the spice level is always on point. I just wish their website allowed you to put no eggs for their food so I can directly order from them. I have to order from Doordash specifically so I can put no eggs and it costs more to order on Doordash than their website. I also really want to know what brand of imitation meat they use since it's so good. I would love to buy it myself to add into my...
Read moreStopped in for my first visit at Pho's for a late night dinner the other night after realizing that the Thai place a block away still isn't accepting dine in guests.
First thing I noticed is how much more like restaurants in Thailand Pho's is. Tiny, just a few tables, very fast and friendly. There's a wall of photos of people who've successfully eaten "spicy" and "very spicy" meals. Now, I like my food pretty spicy but, when there's a wall of photos of guests who've survived spicy/very spicy meals, I knew I'd better stick with "medium spicy."
This turned out to be a very good choice! I still felt like my mouth was on fire and my eyes were definitely watering haha! That said, my food was ssssoooooo so so so good. I had crab rangoons - they were tiny but this was actually good because they actually felt like appetizers, and not another meal! I also had my favourite tom kha soup with chicken and basil thai rice.
Pho's ticked off all the boxes for me:
delicious reasonably priced generous portions
can't...
