My favorite stop in Chicago. Off the main drag, Printer's Row Coffee Co has an iconic corner design (they have another location coming soon). Inside, there is only a small amount of seating at a narrow bar that runs along the front picture window and bends at 90 degrees to separate the coffee roaster machine from the customer space. Behind the bar, the owner and a barista are taking orders. Both are wearing masks (optional for staff), which I appreciate as someone who has long been cautious about getting sick and is on a multi-week travel adventure. I have a shot of Nicaragua espresso that is one of the best pulled shots I've had in awhile (and I have a lot of them). I regret not getting a pour over or buying coffee to go. Beyond the coffee and great design, my interaction with the staff and their service is top-notch. PRCC is a comfortable spot to find a great cup of coffee, and I've strongly recommended it to more than a...
Read moreI'm on holiday here in Chicago for a few weeks. Every morning I jog through the city and stop at a different coffee shop to sample the beans. I've been to four or five establishments and Printer's Row is the best so far. They have the roasting dialed in and I've stopped searching for a new coffee shop!
Their pour overs are delicious and they are currently offering four different types of beans. At the other locations they have had only one roast offered for the pour over. The staff is very friendly and even though I've only visited three times, one of the baristas remembered me and asked about my progress through their four roast options. One of the owners, Nick, happened to be roasting yesterday morning and he took the time to patiently answer my questions.
If you like a great cup of coffee and would rather support a local business rather than a big chain coffee shop, I highly recommend Printer's...
Read moreNot only is the coffee absolutely spectacular, but the staff was very friendly as well! I got an oat milk latte with an extra shot of espresso and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was very casual- good for work or light conversation- and the sleek, modern interior mimics an urban outfitters catalog. We got conversing with the owner who was super nice! She gave helpful advice about where to go in the city and how to make the most of our day in Chicago. The location is ideal for those who want to be near Lincoln park to explore, but do not want a lot of heavy foot traffic from the park while sipping on their drinks. Greatly enjoyed my experience there and wish the best of...
