June 22, 2022:. Shame on me. I stayed home, ugh.
June 21, 2021:. I am planning on going to Mariano's. I need greens, cherries, cereal, etc. My eating what is left is holding out. Pizzas are on sale.
June 20, 2022, Heat Wave begins and I am out of a lot of the food groups.
It calls for a sweaty trip to Mariano's, or frying a rib-eye steak, warming diced tomatoes (I have 1 fresh tomato left), and mixing a berry/avocado drink w/o a blender for two days.
Now I have a can of sauerkraut, but not with steak. I ate the steak (rib-eye) and fresh tomato tonight and that isn't bragging. The sacrifices I make to avoid ordering out. LOL
However. I can't complain too much can I. Always my fault when I run out of food.
June 12, 2022: Winning and staying solvent.
I was prepared for a cool Friday night pizza. While at Mariano's I picked up a RED BARRON PIZZA for $3.97.
If I desired fruit, I also bought DOLE FROZEN FRUIT, BLUE BERRIES for $4.99
I purchased QUICHE SPINACH CHEDDAR on June 15, 2022. I could enjoy the refrigerated delicious entree and flaky butter crust for $6.99.
Saved a lot of money, too.
June 1, 2022:. I believe we are no longer doing business.
April 25, 2022 -Dominique and delivery man were civil, and their behavior was kind and controlled. Beware, Dominique, Order Taker, has her finger on the scale and when I pointed it out, she apologized. (Small business - She may be speaking for the owner.)
Of course the total bill adjusted on the errors of Dominique was a few cents lower than ordered.
The Credit Card Company is not interested, because it isn't an overcharge.
She added tomatoes to the pizza thinking it was an add-on, and charged $2.00 more, or $13.55.
Then she sent only a can of Diet Pepsi instead of 1 liter, charging $1.95 instead of $3.50. Also $4.00 for delivery and the SOTA is more than China Hut's sales tax, a negligible amount, same neighborhood.
They made me mad and I didn't tip. I phoned and told Dominique to take her finger off the scale. She apologized and said "Thank you".
March 31 & April 14, 2022:. I used Tortorice's twice before; behavior taking orders doesn't run smoothly. Cell phone is blamed for disturbance; however I have 2 cell phones now (sometimes 3).
Old News: No integrity.
The cheese ravioli was satisfying. The lasagna was missing pasta and compensated with too much meat. I will not order it again. The prices are high. $$$
April 14 2022 bought a thin crust pizza, sauce is not cooked long enough for me. I also bought cannolis and the bill came to $30 with delivery $4, and tip. Weather force...
Read moreMy friends and I ordered pizza for delivery. It took 90 minutes to arrive—fair enough, it’s Friday night. But then the food was cold, soggy, and overall tasted pretty gross. If it’d been a $40 papa johns order we wouldn’t have been too upset. But when a pizza from this place is $40 then you add in all the sides, it’s reasonable to be upset when you spend almost $80 on gross food.
We called to complain and were met with rudeness. They offered a credit or redelivery. We explained that after waiting 90 minutes, we didn’t want to wait another hour for redelivery, and we didn’t want a future order credit because the food was so bad we’ll never order from here again. They said any refund was off the table and they were too busy to keep talking and short delivery drivers so to take the credit or redelivery. We asked how it makes sense that they’re so busy and short staffed they could remake and redeliver, but couldn’t just refund us, and they said it’s actually just common sense. Ultimately we had to threaten a chargeback with our bank before we were offered a refund and...
Read moreI really want to give this place more stars. The deep dish pizza is good but the service is extremely sub-par and the idea of successful last mile delivery isn’t a concept over there.
The person taking the order is either shouting at you with an attitude or cannot understand due to phone connection. Not a huge issue, can look past this - easy.
The real nail in the coffin was finding out the hard way that this restaurant does nothing to protect the food once it’s in third party hands. While the GOATS (El Taconazo El Tio, Pasta Bowl, Devil Dawgs, etc.) mandate that ALL third party couriers have a food-temperature sensitive carrying device….Tortorice’s does not and, correct me if wrong, don’t seem to care for one.
In a world where everyone is e-ordering, do a better job overseeing quality control...
