Hoping owners see this and its a constructive review. I want this place to succeed bc its a family owned and operated business that has been bombarded by business ever since the Barstool review that named them the “best pizza in Chicago”.
I came here 20 mins after they opened and it seemingly wasnt too busy yet, i ordered the pepperoni pizza and 1 cookie that came out to $35. After I ordered it got really busy, people picking up online orders and ordering slices.
45 mins I was waiting and getting concerned bc i heard a employee tell one customer that they gave their pizza to someone else, and other customers getting their pizza before us that came in after us.
So i asked a employee if my order was ready and she went to the back where i assume there are heated storage shelves and she came out with my pizza, i got home and the pizza was cold and hard like cardboard. My order was definitely ready for awhile and they didnt even realize i was sitting there waiting.
So here are my suggestions: A monitor that has 2 columns that say Order being prepared/ Order ready so that customers are updated Move the drink cooler to the back as anyone can just take a drink and not pay for it, gets so crowded in the waiting area that employees wouldnt even see anyone stealing out of it Move the cookies, as i was waiting i saw 5 separate people pick up the cookies to see how big they were and put them back, i dont want to buy something that a bunch of hands have touched Put the price of slices on the website Sell ranch dipping sauces
I noticed they stopped taking delivery orders bc thats where the majority of complaints of cold pizza were coming from. Id recommend they stop taking online orders until they have the staffing to handle the uptick in orders. If you want to live up to the hype of a 8.2 Portnoy review you have to take the steps...

Seating is very very limited in the restaurant, so it is more convenient to order takeout and pick your pizza up to-go if you were looking to go here for for dinner.
If you were to dine-in for dinner, depending on how busy it is, the wait can range from 40 minutes to 80 minutes. There are board games for customers to grab if they were to hang out and wait for their pizza to be served to their table.
Also, make sure that if you order a pizza to-go and then decide to dine-in as a table becomes free, that you tell the cashier/server that.
One time, my friends and I told the cashier that we wanted it to-go and later decided to dine-in as a table became free. However, we had not told the server at the time that we had changed our preference. This resulted in them giving us our pizza after it had already been cooled to close to room temperature, likely because they wait for the customer to come to the front to get their takeout orders. We waited for probably an hour before the server noticed that we had gotten no food for an extended period of time and asked us what name our order was under and served our pizza immediately after.
It was our fault for not letting them know our preference, but when a group is in your restaurant for about and hour while 2 rounds of other customers order and get their pizzas before us, I was a little annoyed that they didn’t notice us. Especially considering that there are very few seats in the restaurant to not notice sooner.
Overall, me and my friends still love this pizzeria and is still our top spot so far for...
Read moreWent because of Barstool Pizza review. He raved about it and I love NY style pizza. Didn't even care that it took 70 minutes to get, we were very excited!!! When we got the Gold Medal Pie (we sat and waited 20 minutes after our online line order from home) we were so pumped, how could you not be after Dave's review. It all went down hill from there. It was actually cold, how could that be as we waited and waited and promptly received the pizza when our name was called? The pizza itself was actually horrible, wish I could give zero stars. Imagine if you were drunk, crisped up a tortilla and spread some sauce on it and forgot that you didn't have any cheese left in the fridge, so you do what a good hungry drunk would do, you make do. You throw some mozzarella dust you found in the bottom of an empty Kraft cheese pouch. You then shave some parmesan in two places. You take a bite and look at your drunk buddy and go, wow this actually gross, lets order Dominos... I hate Dominos and haven't ordered one since college. I lied, I got one 13 years ago after that marketing campaign that claimed they knew they sucked and reworked the recipes, it still sucked. But Dominos is a home run compared to this. I just can't believe it was that bad. I actually will try again because I think I might have gotten a lemon. There is absolutely no way someone could put out a pizza like this and be busy. BTW, the cheese curds were a sold B. Nothing amazing, but...
