Waited in line for 45 minutes. They said they were understaffed but upon entering there were many employees just standing around either not doing anything or moving slowly. It took about 5-10 minutes for them to complete a single transaction. While I was paying two of the employees began to argue in front of me and they couldn’t figure out how to use the card reader. A total of four people came up to try it before it went through. That wasn’t that big of a deal, the thing that irked me was that the first employee didn’t seem to care and kept saying that my card was declining until another one stepped in. The same employee also told me they were out of a specific donut flavor, so I ordered another. While I was waiting for them to finish my friends transaction, who was right after me, they pulled out a fresh tray of the donut flavor I asked for! Like what? I would’ve happily waited the two minutes it took for them to bring out that donut.
Having worked food service I tried to understand that they are busy and still working things out as they just opened, but if the employees were actually doing their jobs properly, I doubt there would have been as long of a wait, if any wait at all. The art was amazing, but not worth the high prices or the demeaning customer service. They are also very transparent with their prices. It’s 4.50 per donut and 6.50 for a small cup of coffee. The drink price varies on which one you get. I don’t typically write reviews on any establishment, good or bad, however I’ve sat with this experience for a few days and it was just really unexpected and disappointing. I really wanted to like this place.
Overall, horrible experience. I planned on taking some friends and art students to this place in the future, but I will never be returning.
*-this is not at fault of the employees, but when I visited, there was a group hogging the main photo room from when I first came in and until I left. This group had a child which they didn’t really supervise, the child ran around and kept getting in and out of the bathtub, making it hard for anyone else to get pictures. After about 30 minutes, my party and I went up to try and take our turn, but almost as soon as we did an employee came up and offered to take pictures for the group that was taking over, ushering us out of the room. I left immediately after this very upset without...
Read moreThe reason for my 3 stars is due to service. I would give a 5 star for menu, pricing and theme of the restaurant but a 1 star for service. The day I went with my daughter we stopped and ordered two of their Halloween donuts. The wait in line was extremely long and there was only one person in front of us. Instead of having one person take orders and one person preparing the food, they had people taking orders and both people were preparing the food. Therefore, nobody else was taking orders. The lady in front of us also ordered one donut and she had to wait until the two people made all the other food and drinks before they took her order for one donut. After we finally got to order our two donuts the lady flipped one of the donuts and all the frosting came off so I asked her if she could give me a different one and she said she could not because she couldn't give that to anybody else. I told her I didn't want to pay for the donut that had no frosting on it. She said I can buy another one and tries to charged me for a third donut. I just bought two donuts. So she obviously wanted to charge me for the donut that she dropped all the frosting off of which I refuse to pay for of course. She and I had a back and forth and another employee came over and asked what the problem was. I explained the situation. He told me she was not charging me for an extra donut which kind of upset me because it was clearly on the register that she charged me for three donuts. She then said yes. I did charge her for the third donut. So now we're just standing there. Finally, he said just take the third donut off. I was thinking no kidding. Why would I buy a donut for $5 that had no frosting on it. So not only was the line very slow in moving, but then when I finally got up there I spent another 15 minutes buying two donuts. It did ruin my experience at this restaurant. We were excited to go, take photos, and order something from the menu. I would maybe go back but won't order a donut unless I specifically make sure they don't flip the donut while putting it on the plate. Also, just one last thing the bathroom could have been much cleaner not sure how often they clean it. Overall, a very fun and photo friendly restaurant with a good...
Read moreWe had horrible and rude service, everything took forever, and the food was undercooked and not good. Not worth the cool art to be met with such rude staff and bad service. To start it was very unorganized and took forever for us to get to our table, even with a reservation made. We were then sat and proceeded to sit with the menus and no guidance. We planned on doing one of their meal selections where you were able to take pictures at the end. We had no clue what we were allowed to order and what we were going to be given. When we asked the server, they constantly met us with rude remarks, treating us like we were stupid. We then ordered and when asking the server for recommendations they responded with “I don't know I've never tried it”. We then proceeded to wait with no drink or food for another 10 minutes, when finally our side salads were brought out. We weren't given any silverware or napkins and had to ask twice. There was a mix up because we all ordered donuts and only two people got them, so one person from our party asked where they were as well as our drinks. The server then explained rudely how we needed to wait and replied with “I've been working here for 17 years so stop worrying I know what I'm doing”. I would assume if you worked there for 17 years you would understand how to properly treat customers, but I guess not. We then took the photos we payed for with another server, and midway through a photo, our original rude server came over and says “ get out of the way I'm taking a photo, pushed us all aside and made a big scene so they could snap one photo of a different couple. The small gift and photo at the end were nice, but all we wanted to do was leave after being so rudely treated Now the food was not good at all. I got the lemon-glazed chicken and I am certain that it was not cooked. It was slimy and gross, covered in fat. The rice was ok, some bits were still crunchy. The donut was ok, a little stale as I imagine they sat out all day. The only thing I enjoyed consuming was my drink, after it took them a whole 25 minutes to make. Overall me and my party would not return, due to the terrible service, how rudely we were treated, and the food that was both uncooked...
