Santanas Cottage Cafe and Catering — Restaurant in Lakeport

My son just moved up to Lakeport from central Cali for a paramedic job. I scoped out the town via Maps & chose a few places to sight see. Santanas made my list & thank goodness!! The food was fresh, hot & delicious. Portions were generous. Flavors were so complimentary of each other!! I ordered the grilled cheese w side salad & a side of fries. The grilled cheese was brie cheese!!! Also w apples & fig spread!! O my gosh I've never had such a delightful grilled cheese before!!! My husband & I split the sandwich, I had the salad & he & our son had the fries. The fries were DELICIOUS! We came just before closing time & the fries were fried in CLEAN oil! Wow! None of them burnt or soggy. Perfectly salted too. Son ordered the breakfast burrito & could hardly finish it. He raved how good it tasted. The service was perfect. Pearla was sweet & prompt & accurate. She checked on us & she served us w a continuous smile. The atmosphere was perfect. Patio seating w plenty of shade & plenty of space. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay as well. Very relaxing & comfortable. We even ran in to the priest from church ⛪️!!! What a pleasant surprise!! MUST be the hot spot if father is eating here. Just recently moved here and have tried a couple breakfast spots, today I tried Santanas and it was the best so far. I got what I normally get; pancakes, overeasy eggs, bacon, sausage and country potatoes. Unlike most places that was a full menu item and not something I had to piece together. I also got black coffee and water. The food was excellent but considering my meal is hard to mess up I am really writing about the service. There were four waitresses working when I came in and every one of them checked up on me multiple times, I never saw the bottom of my coffee or water cup and eventually had to say "no thank you" after 4 cups of coffee. They always made sure I had everything I needed including one bringing napkins without me even asking. The price was right, in this economy, I think two egg mcmufins and a coffee at McDonald's is probably the same price I paid for a real meal here. We have been coming to Santana for a while now, we’ve never had any issues service and food was always on point. But this last time my family and I went we were seated and the first waitress immediately took our orders for drinks. 20 min later we finally got our second waitress for our order she seemed very impatient only with us she took everyone else’s orders with a smile and served their food quickly and mind you we were there before those customers. We finally got our order and there was a long hair in our crepe. My husband had to get up and notify the waitress because he was trying to wave them down and no one seemed to pay him any mind. When we got our new hairless crepe it was dropped down and there was no eye contact and no apologies. The only time the waitress was a little nice was when she gave us our receipt.
