So…I don’t really expect the same service from a Starbucks inside a store. I gave this three stars because the convenience is nice and my drink was really good. The service was really off, though. So, we came in just to maybe get Randall’s fried chicken (it is absolutely tasty) and pick up a pumpkin pie (surprisingly that wasn’t very good as the crust was almost hard and cookie like) for a movie night. We normally go to H-E-B but decided to pop into Randall’s for the heck of it. There was only one person working and she was making one drink for another customer. We went up to the counter. There was no eye contact and no greeting for over 5 minutes. She made the other person’s drink and proceeded to clean up a little. She may have been new as she taste tested the other customer’s drink from what was left in the blender cup (in a separate cup of course) as if she was making sure it tasted right, etc. (I am not going to bizarrely post her pic/write some icky negative comment about her looks/weirdly describe her manner of dress like another commenter did about some baristas at this location as that is just beyond not cool). If she was new, I can understand your first go ‘rounds alone can be daunting and frazzle you and so being a little shut down to get through the stress can happen.) After around five minutes, one of us contemplated starting the shopping. At about the 8 minute mark she took or order (yes we were looking at the time on our phones at that point as it was odd to just stand there forever and still be the only people there except whomever she has made the drink for [they were not around the counter anywhere but obviously someone had ordered as she was making a drink]). I left my husband and went to the bakery which is right next to the Starbucks counter, perused the goods, grabbed my pumpkin pie, grabbed another tasty baked good I found, and got some crackers from the bakery area also. I had ordered one drink and my husband didn’t get anything…and she was still making my latte. When the barista had finally acknowledged us and took our order, she was not rude at all and had a friendly voice but no “sorry for the wait” or any pleasantries at all…just a “what can I get for you”. Again…everyone has an off night, the convenience is nice, and maybe she was just coming off a harrowing rush of customers she had to tackle alone, but it was uncomfortable and odd. We thought at one point maybe she was closing, thought we should know that (hours posted said it should be a few hours before the closing time of Starbucks), and just not acknowledging us or something. We almost just walked away and skipped it. I think she would have been fine with that, too. We will definitely give it another shot as Halloween approaches: the lure of that Randall’s fried chicken, the tasty baked good (not the pumpkin pie) I picked up in addition to my pie, and a convenient stop at Starbucks will be great comfort food/ drink choices for a scary...
Read moreWowwww. As a former Starbucks employee I am astonished by how truly messed up our orders were. Ya’ll had to actually try.
My husbands Chocolate Cookie Crumble Frappuccino was not a frap but instead chocolate milk poured over ice with whipped cream on top. A frappuccino is BLENDED. I believe that Starbucks has it literally trademarked. Aside from the fact that a blended drink wasn’t blended, it didn’t even have the toppings (which thankfully it didn’t at this point, or we would have gotten soggy cookie bits soaking at the bottom of iced chocolate milk 🤢). Also no straw came in the bag. How are we supposed to drink it when the whipped cream is filling the cup to the top? Even taking the lid off to sip from the cup was annoying.
My Pecan Crunch Oat Latte had no coffee in it. I swear I thought I was tripping, because I had to ask my husband who HATES coffee to taste it and see if my Italian/Latina ass was. He confirmed that it was essentially cinnamon/nutty milk. On top of my drink being flavored fall milk, I ordered my drink Extra Hot, and they threw it in the bag with no sleeve. How the heck does anyone hold an extra hot drink with no sleeve or doubled cup? Should I grab my oven mitts in this cool 90 degree Texas...
Read moreI drink Starbucks everyday, today my car was having an issue, and I had to turn around to get my other car to take to work so I was running late on my coffee pick up. I work an overnight shift for law enforcement from 08:00p-06:30a. Today I stopped at this Starbucks at 08:55, knowing that they close at 09:00. As I was opening the door, I saw a girl running to the door to lock it on me before I could get in. I heard her say “damnit so close” as I opened the door. I kindly asked if they could make me my drink, instead of saying of course (since they close at 0900p). I got the response of “we close in 2 minutes” by one of the baristas, the other lady behind the counter looked at the other two and said “of course come in”.
I never want to be THAT person, and this Starbucks has never really given me an issue, however, this wasn’t cool. I see a couple more concerns and upset customers on this closing time for this location towards the employees.
I hope the staff or manager...
