I wish I knew this place existed sooner, then again, maybe not!! It's THAT good! As a north Jersey transplant I found it next to impossible to find a bakery that is high quality. Being down the shore it always seems like pastries are "stale" or dry or they just don't know how to really make them. Look no more!!! Elisa's is a top notch high quality bakery that has it all!! I went the day before Easter and the line was out the door (I guess it wasn't as "hidden" as I thought) and I was over 20 numbers away from being called but the lined moved quickly as they were prepared and had a lot of staff working that day. St.Joseph's pastries in both cannoli cream and the standard custard were well stocked, Easter pie (grain) looked amazing, and they had so many delicous pastries to choose from it was really hard to pick a dozen, forget about picking out cookies or cakes, there was a plethora of them! Every pastry shown in my picture was out of this world, we tries both St.Joseph's, their cannoli cream was perfect, not too sweet, not grainy and perfectly smooth. Dark chocolate ganache covered raspberry cheesecake was super creamy and rich and I'm not a huge cheesecake fan. tiramisu was not your traditional type, it was like a square piece of cake with a coffee type whipped cream which did not disappoint. Napoleon' s were also great and the icing, like everything else I've described was a perfect balance of sweetness. Sfuadel was airy inside and nice and crispy (not stale and dry) on the outside. Even the cannoli's and chocolate eclairs weren't run of the mill, there was added perfection! They have breads, cakes, candies, etc.. so much to choose from it's impossible to walk out with "I should've bought this too" in your head!! Price wise they were very reasonable, for 11 large pastries it came to 25.00. There were 8 of us, we all tried some of each AND we all took some home with us after dinner!! Give them a try, you definitely won't regret it!!

I called this morning establishment to place an order for a tray of cookies for a funeral service. I spoke with Tracey who was wonderful and I mentioned the types of cookies that I wanted for the tray and the type that I did not want included in the tray. I specifically mentioned I did not want any holiday or sprinkle cookies included as this was for a funeral service. The tray that I ordered with Tracey was perfect. In the morning I called two place an order for two more boxes (4 pounds each) and I again specified what types of cookies I wanted and did not want. Once I picked up the order I see that my two boxes are FILLED with holiday and sprinkle cookies. I called the establishment and once again spoke to Tracey who was very understanding and helpful. I was told that they have no proof of holiday cookies being included in my boxes so I stated that I would be happy to email them pictures. After emailing I get no response, therefore I call back. I am out on the phone with the owner who doesn’t even know my order and keeps repeating how I ordered pastries and cookies. Mind I only ordered cookies. The owner is very rude on the phone and is giving me a sob story about the economy and how I should have came in to pick the cookies and that I should be greatful that they even did my order last minute. I would not recommend this establishment as they are rude and over priced. There’s also no way to verify if you are receiving the allotted pounds of cookies that you are ordering. I am never inclined to leave reviews but the way that I was spoken to is frankly unacceptable. Good to know that they’re in the business of giving customers wrong orders and providing no resolutions.

Been to Elisa’s a few times for things out of the counter and had no issues. I ordered this cake for a surprise party. I ordered a few weeks in advance and Paid almost $130. Said pickup would be on a specific date around 1 pm they told me they would put earlier just in case and put 1230. Arrived to pickup around 1245. Was told we had to wait in line for all the people picking out pastries. Ok fine. Literally 40 minutes later get up in the line anxious as we had to make the surprise party to be handed a cracked cake. They told us they could redo it all in about 20 minutes and that’s normal for the cake to crack so it would just happen again. Obviously couldn’t wait any longer so we took as is. Called the next weekday to speak to a manager. Was told this is just normal for large cakes and we should expect this. I mentioned the writing didn’t even look nice especially for that price. They told me if I wanted it written nicely I had to specify that and it would’ve been an up charge. I asked if there was anything they could do. after the manager spoke with the owner, the manager called me back and offered a $15 store credit. Told me if I wanted any kind of money back I should’ve left without the cake and got a partial refund. It made no sense. They tried to tell me this was because we were “late” for pickup but we were there in the shop waiting. Even so, a half hour should not crack a cake this way. Ultimately they did not care even enough for the owner to get on the phone. They said this is normal for their cakes so I would definitely not recommend ordering a cake from them at all. Save yourself $75 and go to Walmart because the quality will be better.
