I need a breakfast burrito!
Formerly a Taco Bell many moons ago, Adalberto's is the typical walk-up/drive thru Mexican fast food restaurant we know & love. Portions large, and in no way mistaken as health food. Wanting to break my fast for the day, I went with the most protein & calories possible.
Carne asada breakfast burrito- Hearty & stuffed, the carne asada had plenty of it's namesake ingredient, accompanied with egg, potato & pico de gallo. I found it a little dry, needing plenty of the included hot sauce.
Supreme carne asada quesadilla- More towards my liking, the supreme carne asada quesadilla was a hefty amount of food, with sour cream & pico de gallo lathered onto the carne asada & cheese.
Service was okay. We didn't wait too long for our food. A few tables to wait/dine at, Adalberto's is a grab & go spot, via the windows or drive-thru. Parking spots are available and usually not a problem to find. Adalberto's hit the spot for carne asada overload. Other then the dryness with the breakfast burrito, I got exactly what was expected. Portions are good, and the price is about...
Read moreSo, the place isn't pretty, the drive thru is a little tight/annoying, and the food isn't gourmet/authentic, but let's be honest, that's not what you are looking for if you're in the mood for drive thru Mexican food. This used to be an old Taco Bell that they converted, and, I would say it is a definite improvement. Not everything on the menu is good/great, but my personal favorite is the shredded beef tacos and cheese quesadillas. It's greasy, I'll admit, but that's what I want from drive thru Mexican... Greasy, filling, bad-for-you, hangover , food. The key for me is that the tortillas actually taste/seem handmade, the beef does not appear to be "rehydrated-beef-like-product", and the remainder of the ingredients (i.e. cheese, lettuce, guacamole, salsa, etc.), for better or worse, seem to have human involvement. Again, I've had things I don't like here that I wish could be better -- definitely order guacamole INSIDE your breakfast burrito -- but I would gladly, hands down, come hear over Taco Bell, Del Taco, etc. if I were in the mood for quick/cheap...
Read moreTerrible..... this is my second time going to this one. First time was a little better, however still bad. Took forever and I was the only one there. The second time was much worse. First off they have a B rating right now. I asked for beans on both the breakfast burritos I ordered. She was super confused, but finally got it. There was only two cars in line, one at the window and me. I got to the front and paid. It was super expensive, but I didn’t pay much attention. The she handed me a soda.... I told her I didn’t order a drink. They she said hold on. She came back and handed me a dollar and said she over charged. I said only a dollar? Then she gave me two dollars. I asked how much the burritos were, she said 15.30 something, which who knows if that was even right. I calculated with the receipt I did have and it was a $2.18 difference. Not that I care about .18 cent, but c’mon that ridiculous. I was so irritated I left. When I got one only one burrito had beans. Is it that difficult?!? Two people in line!!!! I won’t be...
