Angelo M. Iacoboni Library — Attraction in Lakewood

I go there for the DVDs and they have a so/so selection but what i hate is how they are all scratched. The best DVDs are scratched but still watchable. 3 out of 20 DVDs play clear all the way thru. It might be my DVD player is old so if u have a good DVD player u might have a better time than me. Lots of forgien films i enjoyed watching. Lots of kid shows and movies for your little ones. No family guy. Lol THEY ARE CLOSED MONDAYS!?!?!?! Staff is cool. When school is in session its quiet(dont know about after school i avoid the school kids). Police station and city hall next door. They have ALL THE BOOKS! i love this place. Been going here sense i was a kid. Its large, has a kid section, everything is put away right, and all the sections are nicely...

This library is my local branch, but I would still go there even if it wasn't the closest one to me. The staff is very helpful at the checkout counter and the information desk. They have TONS and tons of books, but also a lot of sitting space for relaxing or study. Lots of computers so there's never a shortage. I've never had a hassle here, except once they forgot to check my book in, but they didn't...

I used to live right around the corner from this one, back when it was the only one open 7 days a week; that's the reason why I deducted a star. It's no longer open on a Sunday. Other than that, it was the biggest, nicest one around. The Friends bookstore is actually bigger than the one in Cerritos, which is natural because Lakewood has been a larger city longer and has more funding for things...
