Yesterday was our first time at this new location. Facility was clean and modern looking, not typical Mexican decor. Nice change. We went late to lunch and was only a couple people eating/bar. By the time we left lots of booths were full and several more patrons at the bar. Food was good. What I would expect. Childs size lunch was about the same as adult so if you are a senior and you don't eat a lot, this is a great option. One child had the taco childs plate and said it was great, the other child got an adult size burrito plate and loved it too. I got the chicken street tacos and they were good. I was expecting shredded chicken and was served ground but still really tasty. They have two different kinds of chili relleno so be sure to get the kind you like. No complaints about the food, served quickly and hot. Nothing was overwhelmingly spicy. The salsa they give you with chips was a medium hotness. The chips were hot and great. Looking forward to trying some other dishes there.

I have been to this establishment in the past always had wonderful food and service. But on this day a couple of friends and myself were unfortunate enough to be served by an older heavy set woman that, quite frankly ,needs to be put out to pasture. She seemed purposely slow and over the top rude. The before lunch chips were cold and seemed to be from the bottom of the bag . We ordered the big Nacho plate and asked that the jalapenos tomatoes and other toppings be served on the side. 20 minutes later we were brought a greasy burnt plate of chips beef and cheese with mushy jalapeno peppers and then we're forced to ask for the rest of the toppings that we ordered on the side which I have pictured below the tomatoes were more white than red & maybe tablespoon of guacamole and sour cream waited another 5 minutes for the "Super Burrito" I ordered. Also picture below . So disappointing it looked like a TV dinner made for kids. I was hungry and did not have another half an hour to wait for the Super Burrito in which I ordered. The water was good. Needless to say I will not be back. Such a shame

EDIT: Replying to the owner. I've been bartending since 2007. I know what a fresh margarita tastes like, looks like (not bright puke green) and how long it should take. I hadn't taken a bite of a chip before my margarita came out. Im sorry but it was not fresh. Nothing of quality comes out that quick. Absolutely delicious chicken flautas and chips and salsa. The waitress was super nice but really absent. She could have checked on us more so we didn't have to look for her. She had one other table in the whole place. I ordered a classic margarita and it came out in less than 2 minutes and tasted like mix with a hint of tequila. They also charge more for a "mucho" margarita but don't put more alchohol just a bigger glass and more bottle margarita mix.

My son and I are fairly new to the Tacoma area and have been asking for suggestions for good eateries. Well, it's official! By word of mouth we finally found our spot for authentic Mexican food. Mi Tres Amigos in Lakewood is all the rave. The fresh, tasty food is also filling and comes with A-1 service to boot. My new friend Juan Fernandez, pictured to the left of me, is part owner and a personable fellow with great passion and energy. Indeed, he's got a story to tell. To say the least, my son and I loved the food, service and character of the establishment and will be returning very soon. Stop by and tell Juan, or the server Salvador, pictured to the left of Juan, I sent you. @ Lakewood, Washington

We just moved to the area and looking for places that offer good food at a decent price. This place is not it. We paid just shy of $50 for 2 enchilada plates. Apparently this is the only Mexican establishment that charges for chips with salsa. I should have checked the order before leaving because the order was wrong once I got home. I ordered refried beans not black beans and the enchiladas are very plain. One of them came with what I'd like to say is a black bean sauce while the other didnt. The salad was soggy. Since it was unknown what was black inside my enchilada it went in the garbage. Food was terrible. Everything in the picture is garbage. Wont be going back.
