Food is good but service has been a miss on all three of my visits in the last 6 months. I arrived just before an hour before close each time and was rushed out the door as fast as they could get me out.
The first time was 6 months ago on a Friday. Their website and sign on the door says they close at 1030, when we arrived before 930, the hostess looked at the clock and asked if our order was to go. I told her we would like to sit and eat, and she was visually displeased. She checked on us just about every minute to see if our order was ready. When our order was taken and then delivered, we didn't see her again until she dropped the check off. We had to flag down a server for refills on drinks and more chips. Before we could even review the check, our hostess was bringing over boxed and clearing our table...all before 10pm (and they close at 1030pm).
Similar situation on my second visit but we came in at 940. My party only wanted appetizers and beverages and thought we had more than enough time with the restuarant closing at 1030. But that was not the case when they encouraged us to get our order to go because the kitchen was closing.
And finally, tonight. I went in right around 835pm and was looking forward to sitting down to eat. We checked the time online and their sign on the door and both stated they were open till 930 pm on Sundays. When the host asked is if our order was to go, I said I wanted to dine in. After all, I just struggled to carry my sleeping toddler in and was looking forward to a drink and yummy food. The host looked at the clock and said they were closing soon. I commented that they were open until 930 pm and he said they were closing early tonight...or is this every night?
If I didn't want to deal with carrying my child into another restuarant, we would have just walked away with no order. Instead, I gave them $50 of business that they clearly didn't want.
So from now on, I'll skip Mis Tres Amigos and head to Cazuelas, where my business is...
Read moreMy mother (visiting from Portland) and I decided to have dinner here Oct 1. First off we were seated by a server who's section was next to ours but our server was male, we had to request he come take our order because he never came to introduce himself or enlighten us on any menu items or cocktails. Once he came he still didn't give a name he just took our order. He dropped our food off and that was it, never seen him again after that. I needed a refill, my mother needed more napkins and more chips but no one ever came to our table to ask how the food was or if they can get us anything. May I remind you we are black and my mom remembers the same treatment from many years ago and remembered this is why she hadn't been back in so many years. When we confronted the man while at the front desk his response was "I'm sorry you feel that way, amiga" like no that's not just how I feel thats what happened. If it were up to me I would've walked out to teach the server to be more attentive to his tables, if I had done that I'm 90% sure he wouldn't have noticed. Luckily I was with my mom so we did the right thing and paid. Now the food was great! It was hot and they use freshly shredded cheddar but that doesnt make up for the terrible service we received that day. As part of the black and brown community we have to do better in how we treat our people. That was completely...
Read moreFood was lacking in flavor and that’s what you usually seek Mexican food for. On top of that there’s nothing Mexican about the atmosphere, all dark decore, no authentic or original culture to this place, actually I think they only had one photo up on a wall. Bathroom sinks have faucets that have a printed sign that says swipe on swipe off…well my partner and I both swiped many times and took an additional 5 mins just to get it to turn off. Worst part of the experience is the older waitress that served us, she was extremely unwelcoming or friendly…it was middle of the week and literally only 2 other tables in the restaurant. She checked on us maybe once, but never offered more chips and salsa or refills of drinks. She offered no suggestion on options when I asked her about getting 2 street tacos, seems odd that she told me only option for tacos was 4 or 6 to the point that I had to pick a different item and she still got that order incorrect. She hovered awkwardly during the payment process not sure if trying to ensure a proper tip was given but she spent more time at our table during that process than any other time. I’ve also never had a waitress point their finger to an item on the table and gesture for me to give it to them? One younger woman at the bar was friendly, I appreciated that, and I’ll give one star for how clean the place is - otherwise we...
