Mr. Hero — Restaurant in Lakewood

One of the perks of traveling to visit new places is to explore foods in the area. I have this quirk that I always try to find food chains not available in the Seattle area. Mr. Hero was one of these places that serves Cleveland.

Why Mr. Hero? The chain serves cheesesteaks and gyros sandwiches, something I am not able to find easily in my area. This location was the closest to my Airbnb and had some specials that I wanted to exploit. Location was in a smallish strip mall area, and it was pretty clean overall. Time of visit was around mid afternoon after a morning visit to the Great Lakes Science Center in the morning on a Sunday. The staff there were pretty efficient.

Two sandwiches were ordered for takeout. The first was a Gyro sandwich, and the other was the Sicilian Parmesan Cheesesteak. I ate the cheesesteak right after I returned to the Airbnb, and it was good even when it was cold. One slight downside was the lack of vegetables (only mushrooms), but the meats in the sandwich (Steak, grilled sausage & pepperoni) made it such a unique and tasty sandwich that I can still taste it one week later. I wanted to return the next day to get extras to bring back to Seattle areas but unfortunately that did not work out. The Gyro sandwich was unfortunately disappointing. I should have ordered the chain's famous Romanburger instead. Well, there will be a future opportunity to try that out.

Overall, that Sicilian Parmesan Cheesesteak deserves a tryout for anyone interested in a good hearty sandwich. Highly...

The food is always delicious and served hot, however I have ordered food several times from this establishment and each time I've noticed how cruel the managers\owners treat their employees. While ordering today the beverage cooler was left open by a customer. The manager at that point yelled at his employee who was taking an order and said, "you don't see that open?" I found it offensive that he thought it was necessary to belittle her in front of patrons. Another time I ordered a sandwich and asked for no onion. When I sat down she came over to me and asked if I needed anything, I let her know there was onion on the sandwich but it wasn't a big deal. She begged me not to say anything as in fear for her job for forgetting to ring in - no onion. It's upsetting to see someone treated so poorly. No one deserves that. I hope this is seen my management and they decide to change the way they treat...

I don’t eat much Fast Food. But I love my Roman Burgers. I have been served by this exceptional person in the past. But after yesterday I have to leave a review. You don’t get good Customer Service like this. He’s tall and handsome and should probably be in a suit. However he’s the best customer service I’ve had anywhere. What he does for a living cannot be compared to anything because you can tell he’s on it. I went across the street for a shake after ordering my food. When I came back this nice gentleman was waiting. I didn’t get in the door hood and he handed me my sandwich. I just wanted to give kudos to this restaurant I’ve always received good service here.
