I don't know where to start. My friend and I were looking for some Mediterranean food in Lakewood, and this place came across. We stopped by because of their good reviews. When we walked in, the older guy (probably the owner) asked us right away what we wanted to order. We didn't know what to order since it was our first time visiting. Then he went to the back and didn't come out again. A young lady came out, and she was very nice (compared to the guy). We wanted to eat the grape leaves and a gyro. They didn't have it because of the Ramadan. So we respect that. So we decided to order something else. We ordered a chicken sharwama, beef sharwama, French fries, and a tea (which I thought that it was going to be "homemade" like other small places). The place was dirty, but we wanted to give them the business since it looked like they do not get busy. Plus, the kitchen was in the front. It took almost half an hour for our lunch. We were the only ones there. When I got up to check our meal, it looked like it was sitting for a good couple of minutes. They probably were watching TV, and that's probably why it took so long. After we got our meal, it was the worst thing ever. My meal smells like spoiling meat and my friends. We tried a little piece of the meal and tasted like sour and spoiled. Our stomach was hurting after trying one piece of meat. We left everything on the table the way that they gave it to us and went somewhere else. We felt bad not eating the food because there's people out there who do not have anything to eat. We are greatfull that we have food. I don't normally leave bad reviews, but I couldn't let this...
Read moreI was traveling from out of town and looking for halal restaurants. What the owner didn't know is I used to be in the culinary field. We ordered a beef shawarma plate and I looked over to notice the raw beef being placed on a cold grill that had been off, so I said to myself "No big deal, I can live with it." After that, we got our food and I took one bite of the rice and noticed part of it was frozen as if it was leftovers and taken out of the freezer and heated up. I was instantly turned off by this place. We got two shawarma plates and two drinks for 27.00 plus I tipped ahead of time and this is what we get? Frozen, leftover rice and cooked shawarma off of a grill that wasn't pre heated or seasoned properly? The grill didn't appear to be seasoned or pre-heated properly. I was turned off by this place, I may not look Lebanese but I have had Lebanese food in different places and I don't think these people take pride in how they prepare the food. Don't serve your customers leftovers. Rice should be made fresh daily. Customers can taste the difference and the grill should be seasoned to get off excess cleaning chemicals from the day before. Find yourself another restaurant nearby if you...
Read moreBest middle eastern restaurant in Lakewood! I cannot say enough nice things about this place. I even recommended this restaurant to my family and they love the food, as well. The menu is smaller and the place itself is small, but food is always made fresh to order, very delicious, and the prices are so reasonable!!! I know a lot of middle eastern restaurants in the Cleveland area that prepare their food in advance and just heat it up for people, but I can always rely on this place to give me my food freshly made. If you like spicy food, I would recommend the sojo with cheese. You will not...
