We watched, with anticipation, the construction of the new Whataburger in Lampasas, Texas on our many frequent trips through town. We were excited to see Whataburger come to Lampasas, as Whataburger is a favorite of my husband's. We had passed through Lampasas many times after it opened waiting for the store to work out the kinks of being new before we stopped for a meal. On Wednesday evening (12/29/2021) we stopped in around 6:20 on our way back home. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. There was a pretty good line in the drive-thru. We placed our order (which the girl taking the order seemed pretty unsure of herself) and looked for a clean table at which to eat. The majority of the tables were dirty and there was food on the floor. We wiped the table we sat at with one of the disinfecting wipes that we carry with us because it had not been wiped down from previous diners. The women's restroom was dirty. AND THE FOOD???? WELL, LET'S JUST SAY NO ONE LIKES COLD, DRY BURGERS AFTER WAITING 20 OR MORE MINUTES FOR THEIR FOOD!! OBVIOUSLY, THE FOOD IS PREPARED AHEAD OF TIME AND SITS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ORDER. BOY, WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!! NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WILL BE DRIVING ON THROUGH AND NOT STOPPING AT WHATABURGER....

Inside every creature to exist on earth, there is a need for consumption. We emerge from the womb and explore an endless serenity of hand-to-mouth obsessions. We are told to indulge from the moment of conception, and well beyond our initial credit score. Humans developed the ability to create sonar, to manipulate sine waves with the intention to provide auditory pleasure, and digest interwoven treats such as baked yeast and cow.

While the latter could appear to be mangled, due to the graphic nature of depleting a species - there is a necessity. Someone to provide comfort in such a process of egocentric decision. Here, you will find designated people who are paid to provide you a congenial experience for your hunger-based eradication. They are exceptional.

You leave the drive thru and reconsider why you chose to indulge on your primal instincts. Are you nothing more than an organism destined to destroy the world for your own innate hunger? Does existence matter when viewed on such a microscopic scale, which is built inside a labyrinth of anomalies?

After your first bite, you will understand. Get the patty melt,...

Hate to give a bad review - although the food was good - as it usually is - the operation of the restaurant was terrible - a big waste of time.

Just before noon we went through the drive-thru to get a couple burgers for the road - then proceeded to get trapped in the worst fast food traffic jam ever - bumper to bumper - on all sides for almost 30 minutes - in spite of 2 lanes. When we finally got to the window and got our food - I asked "how do we get out of here?" She said we had to wait on the people in front of us who were waiting on french fries.

By this time we were desperate to use the restroom and there were lines inside too (we were blessed to have an HEB nearby). There were also crowds of people who apparently already paid, waiting to get their food - in the way - arms crossed and angry too 😡

I used to be impressed with Whataburger, now I associate them with long lines and wasted time - it may be a long time before I give them another chance.

Suggestion: Chick-fil-A and In-N-Out Burger may provide an industry standard - emulate...

This place is a mixed bag. Visited twice in the past couple weeks. This is a combined review. First time ordered blue cheese burger with no bun on a salad and it came out perfectly. Service was super friendly. 5* visit for sure. 2nd visit asked for the same thing. Was told they won't do that. Wrong salad came out which I was charged more for and no offer of refund for the difference. 2* visit, maybe. Very off-putting to say the least. I know that when asking for modified items it can be a pain, but I paid extra for it due to dietary needs and expect the same service every visit. Pic is from my first visit

Honey butter chicken biscuit with extra honey butter was so good, but they forgot my Medium Fries! Had to come back and get them! Also my cinnamon roll looks old and I've gotten a cinnamon roll from here and it didn't have the frosting like the one in the picture.

We stopped here for a bathroom break and to get something to drink. The restrooms were clean and the staff was friendly. We might have to try the food next time we are in town.
