Read moreI’ve been coming to Amici’s for years whenever I’m in the area, but never again.
I bought a big ball of mozzarella for Thanksgiving the day before, on Wednesday. We never opened it but a few days later on Saturday I opened it and it smelled very sour and had gone bad. No big deal, I figured I’d just go swap it out. Wrong.
The clerk first said he’d have to get his manager. After a few minutes of waiting for her, the manager started out by accusing me of lying. She curtly said “we weren’t even selling this on Wednesday.” She then realized she was wrong and said as much. She grilled me on when I bought it, when I opened it, and that I didn’t have a receipt. She said normally she would need one so she’d have to call her dad. She went back behind the deli counter and consulted another woman for a minute and called me over. “This isn’t mozzarella” she said. I pointed out that it said mozzarella on the shelf. “Cento Mozz.” She said “well where on the label does it say mozzarella?!” Things we’re getting hysterical and at this point after being accused of lying out the gate and the theatrics of it all I realized I could be there for another 5 minutes and get nowhere. I just said “OK don’t give me an exchange, I’ll just never come back.”
Unbelievably bad service. Shameful for a small business and this woman whose dad presumably owns the place should take a hard look at how she treats customers. Took five minutes and I was still being told I was wrong somehow. Keep your mozzarella. And I’ll buy all my cookies and...
Read moreAmici's offers high quality deli food, bakery items, and sauces that I just love. They also carry a great variety of drinks that you don't find at a typical convenience store. Today was my second time visiting and I was slightly less pleased with this visit than my first, but my opinion of this place hasn't changed. It's still just refreshing to shop surrounded by freshly made items. I ordered ahead online and it was ready upon arrival, and again, I was genuinly amazed at the freshness of the bread. It remains to be my favorite part of the sandwich because it's not everyday you taste something so truly fresh these days. I was slightly dissapointed with this visit only because the woman handing my order out wasn't the friendliest, and after leaving the deli, I discovered she had forgotten the chips and pickle that come with the hoagie by default. The hoagie was still fresh and delicious, however, so I don't really care all that much! This place remains to do a well done job otherwise, and I still highly reccomend, and I will...
