this place is terrible - even by WalMart standards. On one visit, all of the following happened 1) the tire I purchased was given back top me flat because whichever employee that mounted it broke the valve stem and all the air ran out. 2) While they were trying to fix the valve stem, I went to return some pop bottles and cans. Worst can and bottle return in the history of the Michigan Deposit law. 3) One of the bottle bins filled up (there are only three machines - one for bottles, one for cans, and a third for plastic) and it took 25 minutes to to have the machine fixed. 3) when I went to cash in the bottle slips, the self service machine didn't work. Pissed off cashier saunters over after 5 minutes and starts pushing al the buttons at once in rapid fire fashion. When the machine finally barfs up my bottle return money, it pays out precisely twice as much as what I am owed (big surprise given that the cashier hit the button like 95 times int he space of ten seconds). So, I told the cashier the amount was wrong and, seeing that it gave me to much money (there was a twenty dollar bill visible) she literally snatched the money out of my hand and left back to her cashier station. There she sent a signal to the head money changer that she needed her till opened. At least 10 different WalMarts employee sauntered by me just looking like walking sack so meat. Finally, the head cashier comes up and starts yelling at the cashier about whether or not the cashier "needed four different things or needed th esame thing and just pushed the button too many times...." (I didn't know the answer to that question but, given my own experience with her, I had a strong opinion about which choice was the Bingo.
It took the "cashier," head cashier, and and four of their curious blue vested pals 15 minutes to find a to open the till so I could get the right amount of money back. 4) went back to the tire center and learned that the part they broke on the tire wasn't in stock at that Wal*Mart and I had to come back the next day. 2 hours wasted.
The following day I returned to the scene of crime (twice) and was told the tire still wasn't ready. They would call me when it was ready. Sunday went by. Monday went by, now it is Tuesday night - I have tried calling there twice tonight - phone rings forever. I can hear someone picket up and then immediately hang up the phone (I can hear ambient sounds in the background, not like it is a mechanical issue). Called and asked to speak to a manager. Got the customer service manager. Customer service manager told me to call back in 20 minutes after she tried to figure it out.
It is for this reason precisely I stopped shopping at the Wal*Marts and bought a membership at Costco (50 miles from my house). I would rather drive 50 miles one way than to provide another dollar to this shabby,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience with Walmart lately has just been unacceptable. I ordered a Shark vacuum (on sale for over half off) because our old one brokeāand with three dogs, a working vacuum isnāt optional. It arrived broken right out of the box. I turned it on and immediately smelled something burning before it shut off on its own. I called Shark directly, and they told me it could be exchanged. But when I contacted Walmart, they said they donāt do exchanges anymore. No one mentioned that over the phoneāI only found out after sitting on hold for 10 minutes and getting disconnected, then going into the store myself.
The customer service associate in-store told me Walmart hasnāt done exchanges in five years. She refused to exchange the vacuumāeven though it was defective from the second I opened it. I didnāt bother asking for her supervisor because it was clear nothing would change. She did refund me, but a refund doesnāt solve anything when there are no decent vacuums at Walmart for $118. I had to spend an extra $30 to get a working one elsewhere. I wasnāt trying to be difficultāI just wanted the product I paid for, in working condition.
This isnāt even the only issue Iāve had with Walmart. In 2024, I received an email saying there was metal found in Good Made products. I had already eaten some and thrown the rest out once I found out they were recalledāand they still refused to refund me because I didnāt have the uneaten items to return. Just the other day, I got another email letting me know that the Marketside ready-to-go celery packs had listeria contamination. The email came April 10, and the product expired March 25. Why am I being told about a food safety issue two weeks after the expiration date?
On top of all that, Walmart has double-charged me multiple times. Each time Iāve had to go through my bank to get it resolved because Walmart insists they donāt see a double charge on their end.
I know Iām just one person, and maybe my $12,000/year in spending isnāt enough for them to care, but I really hope other shoppers think twice. Between the defective products, poor customer service, serious recall issues, and billing errorsāIām done giving Walmart the benefit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEvery time I am in this store or practically any Walmart in the entire U.S. I go from having a good day to being completely annoyed or pissed off. I had such a horrible experience between a few bosses and employees over a simple online order/in store pickup last year that I told myself I would never shop here again. Today I needed a quick storage container and saw that it was the same price as Amazon but I could pick it up today. So needless to say after my last experience I chose not to do in store pickup. Here's what annoys me the most and is why I felt inclined to write this. Firstly, walking in the door. EVERY DOOR GREETER never says hello or if they do on that rare occasion they are horribly unpleasant. I got a better welcoming from the XFINITY reps that were there today. To add upon it, NEARLY EVERY EMPLOYEE is unhappy with working there and obviously reflect it in the way they work. Whether they're helping you find something or just checking you out they are not personable at all. What shocks me the most is when they just start scanning my items and the only words they say is the total for my bill. Lastly, I can understand having good security, especially since the college kids are back, but I had my basket checked multiple times and was stopped at the door to have my receipt checked (by the same door greeter who couldn't acknowledge my existence when I walked in). That really should not irritate me, but the way the employees went about it it just made me feel like a criminal. To put it bluntly, Walmart is the absolute worst store that exists today. I rarely ever write reviews or complaints, but through my experiences I have had at this store I just felt I needed to...
