Nothing can beat this location due to its consistency, we have been going here for the past 3 years.
We always come here to order our favorite items—whether that’d be in the drive-thru line, in-store pick up, or simply sit and be comfortable.
Our experience on Tues, March 11th shaped our views.
After a late lunch at a sushi restaurant, our initial intentions were to come in and finish up some work.
As we pulled into the front parking lot, a flat, metal item was on the ground. Instead of going over it with my tire, I hopped out of the car, picked it up, and threw it on the side where the outside seating is located.
Granted, throwing it in that area wasn’t the best idea, however, there was nowhere else to put it—nor was there anyone there because it’s still a little chilly out this time of year.
I didn’t want to hold it for too long either. There are no outside trash cans during this time of year. Frankly, I found that the item was a bit too long in length to fit in the trash they have in the lobby.
Anyways, I hopped back in and adjusted my car to properly fit in the parking space.
To my surprise, an employee came straight out of the store and went right beside the driver window with both of their hands on their hip, and a stuck-up expression on their face.
In a hostile tone, they said something in the lines of:
“Did you just throw trash from inside your car?”
And with a friendly smile on my face, I simply said:
“No, I picked it up and placed it there.”
To which the employee responded:
“Alright, I’m just making sure that you’re not littering on my property”—as they picked up the item, annoyed, and walked back inside the store.
Without holding accountable for their mistake and false accusation, I was both offended and disappointed.
Firstly: That Starbucks is not your property. As an employee of any company—even when corporately owned, you are merely an employee and own nothing. As sad as it sounds, you are replaceable.
Secondly: If this is truly your property and making sure I wasn’t littering, why didn’t you make sure that there wasn’t anything obstructing the parking space?
Thirdly: As a person who drives the type of car I drive, do you think I am one to litter? Was the action of going outside and confronting me racially motivated?
Anyways, we left after that. Didn’t bother to going inside so we went to a different location. Just wished the employee handled the situation differently.
It’s just going to be difficult now to ever visit this location again—since it’s the only consistent one from all of our other visits to different Starbucks locations in the area (and yes we’ve been to all of them in the Greater Lansing area besides the new one that just opened up in Dewitt)
I appreciate the time and effort anyone did to read this review. We hope that no one else has an unpleasant experience like...
Read moreThis location has really changed. I used to love coming here to work very nice atmosphere and food/drinks are always good. However the last two times I have went through the drive thru I’ve had concerns. The first time going the staff took my order on the iPad before pulling up to the window speaker. He ordered my drink twice and sent it through twice as he mistakenly entered in extra scoops of Macha. I’m not sure if he was unaware of how to fix the error. However when I approached the window they attempted to give me the order with more scoops and then I caught it by the color and taste. They fixed the errors but I felt the young lady was a bit frustrated with me for his mistake. Then this last time I went on 11/23 the line was extremely long sat in the drive thru for 15-18 minutes. The thing about this location is once you’re in the drive thru you can not get out, there is no side lane available until you’re just about at the window to merge over. So after sitting there I get to the window to get my drinks and they give me two tall when I ordered Venti. I tell the young lady maybe there was miscommunication but I’ll pay the difference but I want Venti. She says we aren’t able to remake or change your drinks at this time. There was no apology for the long wait of 15-18 minutes then my drink is not the correct size and you cant fix it, while I offer to pay the difference. I have never had this experience at any Starbucks location. I have seen and heard them remake drinks if the customer purchase something they do not like. So changing it to the correct size should not have been an issue. I understand it’s the holiday season, people are short staffed and overwhelmed. However customer service should not lack. I understand the mistake but fix it. So I pulled away disappointed and time wasted waiting for something I...
Read moreUpdating my 5 star review from 3 years ago to provide an updated customer service experience. I typically spend money at this location at least 2-3 times a week.
The last three times I have been there the experience has made me want to frequent another location because the drive through attendant has not been very hospitable.
Today I drove up and there was a thunderstorm so I couldn't role my window down due to the hard rain so I waited until I pulled up to the attendant to let them know I couldn't make my order at the speaker because it was pouring down and I couldn't hear well.
The attendant quickly told me she couldn't help me, everyone else was making their order in the rain and I could get out and come inside or drive back around and get in line. Wow! I would have been happy to drive back around or even come in if I had to, but not to deal with the person that spoke with me.
Well, I decided on a third option. Leave, with no plans to come back.
This was my go to Starbucks;...
