Halo Burger Frandor Plaza — Restaurant in Lansing

I had one good and one very poor experience. The second was bad for several reasons. First, I placed my order at drive thru (jr fries $0.99 and jr Boston cooler $1.19) and was asked to pull forward for total which ended up at $4 something and I said that isn't right. they thought I said regular I guess. Then, remade fries no problem. Back to window saying $3.34 and I said it should still be less of jr cooler. They said it was only for kids but I explained it was right on their value menu (they told me this was new to the menu). So they remade cooler and had correct total. Next, cooler was super thick, just ice cream mostly. I called because I was disappointed and hoped that it would make me more satisfied with the experience. I ended up telling them and it was the manager that had apparently made my cooler and I talked to her. I'm surprised that the manager didn't know their menu even if it was updated. That seems like a simply responsibility to do as a manager. She tried to explain that next time I could ask for more Vernors and the shake machine just comes out like that.

Needless to say I was excited to return after my first good visit but now I'm not expecting to return given my last experience. I wish them...

GOT TO BE THE WORST BURGER I EVER TASTED FOR PRICE, I HAVE EATEN 99CENT HAMBURGERS THAT WERE BETTER. I ORDERED THE HALOPENO, THE PATTY WAS MUSH, THE BUN AND CHEESE HAD BEEN MICROWAVED, I TOOK TWO BITES AND WAS SICK OF IT. MY WIFE ORDERED THE BLACK BEAN BURGER WHICH CAME OUT BLACK AS IN OVER FRIED SHE ASKED TO HAVE THE CHICKEN SANDWICH INSTEAD AND I HEARD THE PERSON IN THE BACK (WON'T CALL THEM A COOK BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO) OPEN THE MICROWAVE DOOR AND 30 SECONDS LATER THERE WAS THE SANDWICH. DISCUSSED WE GOT OUR MONEY BACK. I WILL NEVER GO BACK R RECOMMEND THIS TO A PERSON DYING...

The food was awesome. The closest comparison I can find is Five Guys, and Halo blows the doors off of them. The burger tasted the same as what I get at Five Guys, but with much less grease. The fries are better -- although there are fewer of them -- and the whole meal was cheaper than I normally pay at Five Guys.
