If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I went in earlier this month. Before visiting, I informed myself of the safety precautions that were going to be implemented on all ‘Blaze’ restaurants; As well as the Governor issued order. Upon arrival, there were employees who did not have gloves, is masks on. I had no issues with the young ladies preparing my order willing to comply to this safety measure. I went in with my partner to get pizza for us and our family. Pleas note, that before I paid, one of the pizzas was already out the oven, and just sitting on the counter. I stood and waited for my pizzas and got all of them except the first one. I waited a total of 10 minutes before anyone thought of even boxing up the first pizza. I asked one of the employees standing in front of the oven, (which I would soon find out is the store manager) If they would be able to pop it in the oven for a few minutes as it had been sitting out for a while. The lady then grabbed the pizza with her bare hands, and throw it in the oven. Shen then proceeded to tell one of her employees loud enough for me to hear; “How hot does she want it, it just came out of the oven and burned me.” I’m not typically one to talk back to any sort of remark, but how unprofessional was that. I did take sympathy if it would have burned her, but yet again, she touched the pizza with her bare hands... They left the pizza for about 10 more minutes, burning it. The store manager then pulled the pizza back out the oven, threw the metal marker at the glass barrier angrily, and boxed my pizza. I then thanked her for reheating up the pizza (even though it was burned) she responded by throwing the box on the counter and walking away. She did not give me the courtesy of adding any sort of sauce on top. I understand how the situation could have upset her, but she does work in a customer service field. In addition to the pizzas, I ordered garlic knots. When we got back home and we’re finally able to eat our pizzas, we discovered that the garlic knots were raw. Yes they do have some cheese inside them, but we had raw dough. I then called the restaurant, and let them know what was going on, Including the awful experience we had in store. Since the cashier did not give us a receipt, we updated have to go in and hope they recognized us to get a full refund to compensate the experience. When I got to the restaurant, the store manager, gestured towards me to the gentleman working the oven. When I walked up to the counter, a box of what I assume was garlic knots was thrown on the counter, and this gentleman walked away. I then told him that I was told I would be getting a refund not a replacement. The gentleman was unable to access the refund function on the register, so he asked the store manager to do so. This lady, who’s uniform read Hannah; refused to talk to me. And was unaware that the lady I had spoken with on the phone offered me a full refund for my entire order. Hannah, proceeded to get all her information from the gentleman, who was not properly informed of the situation. As I was just visiting my mother, I can gladly say I will never eat at this particular location ever again. I recommend others to steer clear from this establishment, and especially the store...
Read moreFirst several visits were really good all around. Recent trip wasn't that great. Only a few of us in line and our pizzas got mixed up. Even after I said they seemed wrong, I was told they were correct and was handed a pizza (toppings were pretty similar, it was kinda hard to be certain, and the name on the paper was hard to see). When my pizza was actually done about 30 seconds later, the pizza guy realized his mistake, said he was wrong (he used a different, non pc term, which frankly I found refreshing, but probably would offend some people), and offered to remake the other customer's pizza (I was holding the pan but hadn't otherwise touched it). The other customer took their original pizza from me and I got mine. This was all understandable and really no big deal, as mistakes happen, but, while he apologized to the other lady, he gave me attitude and was kind of a jerk (nevermind thanking me for catching his mistake before they had to remake any pizzas). I definitely wasn't upset or problematic as a customer (I've worked retail and in the food industry, and so I know how it is to be on the other side). I'm not really sure how to interpret the whole exchange, but it made me feel very unwelcome.
My pizza came out fairly burned, but that's mostly from the 3 minute cooking process. When it was sliced, the cheese had been pulled away and flopped over (knife not sharp enough to cut cheese?). This pulled most of the cheese and toppings off of one piece. I noticed this on the first pizza I was given too. Not a big deal on its own, but seemed kinda lazy and added to the bad experience.
All of the low top tables that were unoccupied were dirty (5 or 6). It was close to 2:00, so it was well past lunch, and there were idle employees, so this also just seemed lazy. I instead sat at a high top table which was not ideal because of a temporary physical issue.
The pizza was very good, and I really like this place, so I'll chalk it up to a bad day. The enthusiasm and effort was definitely lacking, and I wonder if the "newness" effect has just run out for the employees (most of whom were friendly, at least).
I realize it's not gourmet, but a clean table and decent service is pretty much a minimum. Previous visits were 5/5, but this one was a generous 3/5, because I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall 4/5, and will update after...
