Danny's Restaurant — Restaurant in Laredo

I have delayed reviewing Danny's because.....who hasn't been there. With 14 locations, it's like asking who hasn't been to McDonalds. Not that the two restaurants should even be in the same sentence. Now the only question is "which is your favorite location"? Each has their own atmosphere and vibe, but you will not be disappointed no matter which one you go to. The service is too notch. There is never a shortage of wait staff at a Danny's, and the staff must enjoy working there because I have not seen a disgruntled employee yet and I have been going to Danny's since 2008 when I first rolled into town. My go to was the Danny's Big Breakfast which is a huge bang for your buck (see the photo). It comes with either French toast or pancakes. I recommend the French toast, you will love the thick homemade bread. Wow! Get the eggs scrambled with yellow cheese for an over the top meal. We had stopped coming to Danny's a few years ago after being weekly regulars because they had gone through some pricing issues as their prices soared. They have since adjusted them to a reasonable level and we are back. Great sturdy tables that are always clean and solid wood comfortable chairs with remodeled restaurants give Danny's a warm inviting feel. Solid thick ceramic plates and coffee mugs complete the vibe of quality. Oh yeah, and they have some of the best free chips and Salsa in Laredo. The salsa is a bit watery, but the flavor is top...

I ate at the other location of Danny's and it was amazing...

We just ate at this location and it was awful ..party of 17 ...and the service was horrible...not friendly...the waitress dropped a drink on my niece....and the experience was bad.... Our order didnt come out until we asked the waitress...she even asked me if i wanted my pancakes before the meal came out...and oh it did like 1 minute before....and we are not from this town and this place was recommended...food was to salty and wasnt that good... Will not come back to this one.... Waitress seemed to be jist there....no life in them....no manners...no hospitality... No smile....just all sad looking....no welcoming you in... This place is on our NO list to come back... We did enjoy the other restaurant...nice ...not to friendly either but better service and better food...the manager was rude....but i can look pass him....sad to have a well establishment and the workers can ruin it.....hope we come back through it...

I don't go often to Danny's because I think of it mainly as a Mexican restaurant, but that's my fault. It does have food choices that are not necessarily Tex-Mex. I had the grilled chicken this time, which came with a salad, vegetables, baked potato, and toast bread, and asked the waitress for no salt on the grilled chicken. The chicken came with a bit of salt on it, uh. My wife asked to substitute the baked potato for a salad. But when it was served, it came with a salad 🥗 so why didn't the waitress indicate that? The waitresses and staff are too serious, which makes me think they are a little angry. Wait a minute, the cashier did smile. I would give it...
