Pho 68 — Restaurant in Laredo

I honestly couldn't comment on the food since I really didn't get any. After ordering a special combo #1, which is numbered as number 1 on the special combos list on the menu, I was given a small plate of spring rolls. I assumed that was part of the combo along with the tea, but according to the manager, the number 1 on the menu is spring rolls. A bit odd after I clearly said SPECIAL COMBO #1 while pointing to it on the menu.

Not the best service either. Upon arrival, I was not even greeted. I had to approach the register and ask if I had to be seated or just sit wherever. The waitress finally approached me with a menu and only asked if I was dining in. She did not ask if I wanted to start with a drink or something like that.

The manager came to me about 5 minutes later asking if I wanted a drink. I told her I was ready and made my order. After wasting 30 minutes of my lunch time, I got up and left only to discover then that my order was somehow misunderstood. I spent $6.22 one a couple of spring rolls and iced tea. I could have eaten a full meal with that money. I was almost charged over 10 dollars because they did charge me twice for spring rolls somehow.

I ordered the beef combination pho to go. There was not as much beef as I would have hoped, and the broth was not as flavorful compared to some other pho restaurants I've eaten at. There was cilantro and very little onion in the broth, and the garnish included lime, jalepeno, and lettuce (never had pho with lettuce in it anywhere else in the country), as well as hoisin and spicy sauce. Notably, there were no sprouts or Thai basil. Lettuce is not an acceptable substitute for these ingredients, and I would much prefer the cilantro and onion be included on the side with the garnish as it typically is served. Our first time here at Pho 69 and will be our Last time here. 😡👎👎👎👎👎😝 we ordered the Spring Rolls and those aren't even made correctly, very messy Not tight. 👎👎👎👎👎 We also ordered the C12 Beef Combo Pho and my husband was NOT happy, the Broth was not good at ALL and they had No Sprouts and brought lettuce with jalapenos to spruce it up. 👎👎👎👎👎👎😡😠😝 I ordered the C13 Seafood Pho and that was a Big mistake, the Broth tasted and looked like Hot water not Broth and they had IMITATION Crab meat, yuck. 👎👎👎👎👎😡😝😡😝 Nothing was good about this Vietnamese Restaurant. Why are there Mexicans in there cooking instead of Vietnamese, it was and is Terrible. We won't be back....
