Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Laredo

I absolutely love Rudy’s egg and brisket tacos and the usual lady at the window is always super nice to me. Today I called in an order for tacos at 9:56 am (I know that sounds late) but my boyfriend and I were already in line but the line was taking long and we didn’t want to miss the tacos so I called. The lady on the phone said the tacos would be ready in 15-20 minutes so we got out of line and waited. We get to the speaker box and tell the lady on the intercom that we have an order under my name and the lady said “oh that’ll be in the front” I told my boyfriend to pull forward because that’s what I always do and the lady at the window said again “that order will be in the front” I told her I had called the order in and every time I do that I just tell the lady on the speaker and she tells me to pull forward. And the lady at the window just kept saying “oh well they haven’t given me anything” she didn’t even check or anything just kept saying “they haven’t given me anything” and then finally she goes to check and another person finishes attending to us and then tells us that I stead of us receding the 4 breakfast tacos that they can only give us 2. Wow. I am absolutely blown away. This food was absolutely incredible. I ordered a nice plethora of meats, some potato salad, some banana pudding, and 2 types of barbecue sauces. Every single aspect of this meal was phenomenal. The brisket (ordered moist) was simply the best brisket I have ever had. The flavor was magnificent, not to mention it was cooked perfectly (which takes an exceptional amount of precision and often comes out dry). The baby back ribs were so tender I literally smiled after I took a bite. I don’t even typically order sausage links but boy am I happy I did, prepared stupendously and paired perfectly with each barbecue sauce. The potato salad was unbelievable and of the perfect texture, and the banana pudding put me in a euphoric trance. I’m bringing home some sauces for my friends to try and I am going to send pictures and inform my father, the man who raised me, that this place is unbelievable and figure out a way for him to partake, he simply has to. A number of times I’ve seen health guidelines being neglected. And have brought them up to management.

One time a shift manager was sick and sneezing , when brought up the store manager was dismissive about my request and didn’t think it was a big deal.

Recently, I inquired about food prep and servers using a mask while directly preparing food, and what I got was: CDC guidelines - along with a “you have other options - these are our policies” attitude.

While I enjoy their food, if sick workers (management team) are allowed to stay on their shift, the regard for health guidelines is prob similar throughout. Not worth getting sick.
