GulfSide Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Largo

EDITED REVIEW: we have tried to order twice since the original review. Both times whoever answered the phone (two separate people) had an awful attitude. The first time, the guy sighed when I asked for a customization on the pizza- so loud I just said never mind I don’t want to inconvenience you and hung up. This time, my husband called and got hung up on. He called back and the same guy answered with a sharp “hello”. When he asked to place an order the guy sounded inconvenienced when he said a sarcastic yes sir. I am shocked because anyone I know who has gone here says it’s great but I have had an experience that makes me want to contribute my hard earned money elsewhere, regardless of convenience of them being a mile from my apartment 🤷🏼‍♀️

This place is eh. I just moved to the apartments behind them and was really excited about the convenience. The first time I ordered delivery they forgot my sauces and etc but they were super nice about it and brought it right by when I called. This time the pizza looks a bit overdone. I hate to give a negative review for a place that’s just starting out, but I simply don’t get all the hype. This is my honest opinion.

So I ordered a pepperoni pizza and steak n cheese sub from Gulfside Pizza and Subs tonight and unfortunately was very disappointed. There has been a lot of hype about this place recently and I wanted to try it.

Just my opinion, but the pizza is very lack luster, taste like if Dominos, Hungry Howies, and Pizza Hut had a baby. The pizza taste very processed to me like drunk/college pizza. The steak n cheese sub tasted good, I’ll give them that, but the garlic and herb roll they use reminds me of a crappy Subway sandwich, which just turns me off. Plus, they didn’t even chop up the meat. Nothing wrong with a steak n cheese that’s sliced and not chopped, but when the meat in the roll is obviously frozen meat patties, it would be nice to chop it up. If it was fresh sliced or cut ribeye, I got ya, that’s a different story.

Customer service was excellent, and everyone was extremely nice. I wish these folks the best, but I won’t be...

My daughters and I are in Indian Rock Beach for a short little vacation. Surfside Pizza & Subs was about a 5 min drive from our resort and after a long day in the sun we ended our night with some DELICIOUS pizza (and a chef’s salad)! I could’ve eaten that salad for breakfast, lunch, and dinner… it was amazing! At first glance, the pizza looked a tad bit overcooked for my liking but it was delicious none the less. Also, I thought I had asked for pepperoni and bacon on the pizza but the cashier said I only asked for bacon (totally possible since I’m a single mom dealing with two crazy girls) so we carried on with our half cheese / half bacon (no pepperoni) pizza and the cashier and another man (I believe it was the owner) asked a multiple times if I wanted them to remake it (with pepperoni).. I would never allow that (wasting food for something that was my fault) but it was really nice they were so willing to correct my mistake. I will definitely be returning whenever I’m in the area!
