Proino Breakfast Club — Restaurant in Largo

My family and I visited the location on Missouri next to Waffle House this morning for brunch. Our waitress was incredibly rude. She would ask what we wanted to order then in the middle of our sentence tell us to hold on and go seat whomever had just walked through the door. The first time this happened I thought it was rude but I was willing to let it go. The second time I got offended because after telling us to hold on in the most of telling her our food order she sat another family, served to other people their food and THEN came back to ask us to repeat our order again. We got up and left at this point only because the gentleman sitting behind us had been seated after us ( he was the first person she asked us to hold on for in the middle of our order) and ordered AND GOT HIS MEAL. Before we could even finish ordering our food. There were only 4 of us 2 kids 2 adults so it wasn’t like we had a huge order. I couldn’t help but notice we were the only African American family in the restaurant at the time and had to consider if that is why the waitress had no sense of urgency about serving us but was quick with everyone else. As we got up to leave because we’ve waited for her to served several other people that came in after us before allowing us to complete our order, she rushes over to us and asks us to repeat the end of our order ONCE MORE. we told her not to worry about it and we were going to leave. I will be stopping by to submit a formal complaint. It’s sad this was our first experience at this place. We were so excited to try it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. We had all intentions to enjoy a wonderful breakfast to celebrate our daughters 21st birthday. The restaurant was recommended by our friends because of the food and mimosas. What transpired was anything but a wonderful experience. Started out good with our waitress Maria although she was a little short with her communication but hey, it was busy and we were sitting outside because it was. But then drinks were done, breakfast wasn’t yet provided and Maria was running around. When the food finally came, it was missing my wife’s dish and when trying to talk to her about what we needed, she kept cutting us off and walking away. Finally decided to go in and get syrup and butter instead of waiting for her. She took that as an issue and when she returned, she made a comment about how busy it was and that I didn’t have to get an attitude. This was in front of other patrons and the 5 guests with me. It was shocking so I asked for the owner, which btw she said she was. Expressed my frustration and asked for boxes to take the food and leave as my daughter (Bday girl) was upset about the situation. I’m so disappointed as we really wanted to like this place especially being from the community for over 21 years. I’ll stick with Village Inn for a quick breakfast or even the beach places for better atmosphere. We won’t be back. Food and service was good eating at our dining room table. :/ (Over 35 years collectively in the customer service, management, and food serving industry...

Let me start off by saying, the ONLY reason why I have rated this restaurant so highly is because of our server, Julio. We are here from Georgia taking a family trip and wanted to find a good place to eat but also, a place that would accommodate our larger group (18). We had an issue with a restaurant the day prior so we called Proino BC before coming to make sure they were equipped for a larger group! Whoever answered the phone seemed very friendly about the accommodation and said we would be taken care of. Once we arrived, the ladies at the front desk looked very baffled about the large group and I mentioned calling before to make sure we were good, even though I mistakenly said 16 instead of 18, it seemed like a very big deal that there was a 2 number difference. I did tell the young lady that we didn't mind being separated, whatever worked best for them. Even after all the negative looks from the girls and the smirks, we ended up with Julio as our server and I have to say, he handled the entire group of 18 with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE, VERY ATTENTIVE, NEVER had any type frustration on his face but he did everything with JOY! Thank you, for taking care of us and making our lunch great. Food was good 👍 But I wouldn't recommend for a large group because then you'll get those looks and can only hope you get Julio...
