This place has changed hands and not for the better. We have eaten here many times on all of our trips to Florida. I ordered a cheeseburger well done. It came back very undercooked. I sent it back, and they returned me the same burger, cooked more and literally falling apart. I mentioned it when I went up to pay and the clerk just said $41.64. Not I'm sorry nothing. We went back before we left Clearwater to give it one more try. Although my burger was better, my significant other had a Greek salad that was spoiled. He barely ate a fourth of it and had to stop. We told the server and she just asked him, What do you want me to do. He responded that he wanted the Greek salad taken off the bill. She went to the manager about having the salad taken off the bill and she returned saying that he said we must pay the bill since we did the same thing last week. We were told I had on a bubble shirt with castors, which I do not own any such a shirt. She also accused me of leaving my purse here and having my husband come pick it up. I do not even have a husband. There was no telling them that they had the wrong people. We were not even in Florida the previous week as we live 600 miles away, and we're there on vacation. I ended up having to pay for the spoiled salad and my significant other got very sick from what he ate. I hate how this restaurant has changed. We have been regulars on each of our Florida visits for about 10 years, eating there sometimes almost daily. The servers even used to recognize us even though we are only in FL about twice a year. It was such a pleasant environment and always great, fresh food that we enjoyed. On the off chance something wasn't right, they would insist on taking care of it. Unfortunately, ...

Largo Family Restaurant has been around for a long time, but this was my first visit. It was bright and clean and comfortable. It was a busy Sunday morning, and the very limited staff had trouble keeping up. I only noticed 2 servers for dozens of tables.
Whenever I go to a new place for breakfast I get the same 5 things. Here the best item was the ham steak. It was very thick and large and flavorful. It could have spent a little more time on the grill to give it a better sear. There is another type of ham on the menu that, I was told, was small and not as good. Next was the French toast. It wasn’t soggy in the middle like it’s often served in other restaurants.
Breakfast went way downhill from there. The scrambled eggs were a pile of strange ribbons, dense and flavorless. Scrambled should be at least a little fluffy. This looked like a whisk never came anywhere near those eggs. The biscuit, baked in the restaurant, as shown on the menu, was a small, dense ball. It was so airless that I had a tough time cutting through it with my steak knife! Finally, were the grits. Few places do grits well, but there are some good ones out there. Here they were sticky and completely bland. The server confirmed that they were instant, as I suspected. I tried making them OK with lots of butter, salt and pepper, but they were inedible. I left the full bowl at the edge of the table with nary a bite taken out and thought the server would notice, but she never did.
The server didn’t ask how things were after I was done and when she delivered the check. I guess that was OK since I just wanted to leave and...
Read moreI have been coming to this restaurant for over twenty years and have had great meals and an occasional so so meal. Well on the third we came in for breakfast and sat in Connie's area. She slapped menus down on the table as she walked by without saying anything. After five minutes she came by asking if anyone had taken our drink order. Told her no and she asked what we would like. We gave her our order of decaf for both of us and she proceed to get the coffee. She said she would be right back to take our order and she was back within a couple of minutes. We drank our coffee and I started looking for her to get a refill and she was nowhere in sight. Thankfully Jessica saw we needed refills and took care of us. My wife noticed that the cook had put two plates on the warming area but had not been picked up. They sat there around ten minutes before Connie got them and brought them over. She placed them on the table, and walked away we assumed she was going for our toast. Our entire meal was cold, so we slid them over to the edge of the table where the bus girl asked what was wrong we told her every thing was cold. She went and told Connie who then came over and asked what was the problem with an attitude. I informed her that the food was cold. She pick up both plates and stormed off to order new meals. When she brought the new ones she gave them to us and didn't stick around to see if everything was okay. Shortly after she walked by and dropped the bill on our table again saying nothing. I mist definitely will not sit in her...
