Mr. D's Breakfast & Lunch — Restaurant in Largo

My colleagues and I normally go out for lunch on Fridays. We try to find new places to eat, and on this Friday, I found Mr. D's just a short drive from work.

I am excited that I found this place because we had been looking for that perfect All-American (with a couple of Greek plates thrown in) place that offered our favorite comfort foods.

I think even the pickiest eaters would find a hard time NOT finding a meal to order from their extensive menu. There was A LOT of food on our plates. I had the Plain Jane Burger with lettuce onions American cheese and a tomato slice (that tasted like they picked it from a garden out back! I chose their seasoned, homemade French fries My colleagues each had French Onion soup along with a BLT and a Turkey sandwich. Lots of food stuffed in between those slices of bread! Oh and they give you these mini muffins to eat while you wait, which wasn't a long wait for our food at all. Pat cooked everything to perfection. I ordered my burger medium rare and I got it medium rare.

Although Mr. D's is a small place with less than 10 tables, it has a big heart! Melody was our server and she made us feel right at home. It's rare nowadays to see a smile on a server's face (and I get that), but her smile never wavered from the time we walked in until the time we left. That...

Mr. D’s Breakfast & Lunch is an absolute gem and a perfect example of what a great local diner should be. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a genuine sense of care from the staff. You can feel the family-run atmosphere, which adds so much to the overall experience. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home.

The food was fantastic — classic breakfast and lunch options that hit the spot. The portions were generous, the flavors were spot on, and everything was freshly prepared. What makes it even better are the prices — very reasonable and affordable, especially for the quality and service you receive.

One thing that really stood out to us was how clean the entire place was. The dining area, tables, and restrooms were all spotless, which made our meal that much more enjoyable. You can tell the owners take great pride in maintaining a welcoming environment for their guests.

If you're looking for a kind of place that always leaves you unsatisfied, one that has never heard the word "flavor", or just makes you feel bad for waking up and making the decision to go out for breakfast... This is not that place. I don't know why you're looking for that. Get help.

HOWEVER, if you're longing for a breakfast and lunch spot where you can't make a bad menu decision, the coffee is always hot, and the staff treats you like family, this is that place.

If you're here looking at reviews to determine whether this will be a better choice than that pancake spot on the corner, ignore all other reviews, find a mirror and give yourself a slap on the cheeks, then repeat these words aloud "I WILL NEVER COMPARE MR. D'S TO A TASTELESS RESTAURANT CHAIN. THEY ARE NOTHING ALIKE AND MR. D'S DESERVES BETTER." Then erase the name of that other place from your memory and go get a nice croissant breakfast sandwich at Mr. D's.
