I am really hesitant to leave a harsh review but unfortunately I just found my first experience so awful that I'm not sure what else to do. Growing up Mugs and Jugs was one of my favorite local spots. I thought I'd try the new Mugs for our large order to kick off the football season. Every year we order huge amounts and wings and an appetizer for our kickoff get together and we were looking to try a new place and support a local business. We called and placed the order at 11am for pickup at 5pm so they would have all day and plenty of notice. It was only an order for a ton of bone-in wings, boneless wings, and chili cheese fries. Nothing complicated. We asked how many boneless wings come in a full order and were told it goes by the pound. We asked if we could ensure we get at least 20 boneless wings and that if that's more than a full order can we pay extra or buy an extra half order. She said yes there would just be an extra charge. Then we asked for an order of chili cheese fries. Right after work we go pick up the food. I was going to check each box individually but the waitress already had the bag sealed and she stated she just packed up the whole order and she went line by line down the receipt with us and the receipt was accurate and she literally went over it twice. We paid and my husband tipped $20 just because it's a big order and he wanted to say thank you. We get all the way home and unseal the bag and everything is wrong. We had 12 boneless wings. And then we open the box that said chili cheese fries and it's fries with a piece of grilled chicken chopped up on top. I've never heard of search a thing. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager Roman. I asked to have the missing food and correct fries delivered to us as we just drove through rush hour traffic at 5pm to pick them up and were assured it was right. He said they only deliver through DoorDash so they couldn't do that. He then said he could refund the food to a gift card for my next order. I'm having a get together for the first game and need the food right now so a gift card for next time does not help. He then said we could come back and pick up the additional wings and the chili cheese fries and that he would void the extra charge for the extra wings. We drive all the way back, at rush hour, and I go in. They sent cook out to give me my food. No manager or even a server came to talk to me just a cook who I don't blame for anything. He says they gave me a full order of wings instead of just replacing the half order. I tell him the whole nightmare story and that the manager said he would void the charge for the extra chicken. The cook said he wasn't told anything about that and to just provide the food. I take the high road and just go home. By the time we got back home we are wayyy behind on getting ready for our event. The menu states chili cheese fries are made with Nacho cheese sauce. The chili cheese fries had literally no Nacho cheese sauce. Just some shredded cheese on top and the barest amount of extremely dry chili. I literally almost couldn't eat them they were so dry. By the time we did get home everything was ice cold. So got a big order, paid a ton of money, and tipped $20 on a carryout order just to go through all this and not even have a penny refunded. I'm just really unhappy. My husband and I come every Wednesday afternoon for their wing special, we usually just sit at the bar, today we came in at night, around 8ish and sat at a table because there was no room at the bar..... 1st thing I notice, the table we sat at had a clear view of the hall & kitchen ( kitchen door wasn't closed) I immediately see a guy in the kitchen eating food with his fingers I thought to myself I hope that isn't the cook. 2nd thing I notice, it's a girl standing in the hall smacking rolling up utensils & smacking bubble gum I thought to myself I bet she's our waiter, after about 3 minutes she comes over to take our order, my husband ordered then I ordered, I ordered 7 Garlic Parmesan/ Blackened/ Hot, mixed together & grilled (I order the same wings every Wednesday) the whole time she's taking our order she's smacking her gum, fine; whatever ..... She brings us our food and I have 5 wings. Blackened/ Hot Garlic/, immediately I knew this isn't what I ordered. I waited for her to come check on us to tell her it was the wrong order and to ask her to just bring me a side of Garlic Parmesan, because I intended on keeping the order and just adding the garlic parmesan. I didn't even mention to her I ordered 7 but got 5 (whatever right) I explained to her what I ordered, she insisted that this was it, I explained this is not what I ordered, I ordered Garlic Parmesan/ Blackened/ Hot/ mix, it's 3 different sauces, after going back and forth of her telling me this what I ordered I asked what I originally wanted ask which was if she can just bring me a side of Garlic Parmesan. She rolls her eyes as she go to the kitchen. The cook comes back with a side of Hot Garlic ( the same guy from earlier), I also explained to him this isn't the correct sauce, he says yes it's the sauce the Garlic Hot is just garlic butter with hot sauce. I explain to him I'm asking for GARLIC PARMESAN. Now I'm annoyed, I then ask him to just take the plate away, he did offer to make me something else but I declined, he also said he would remove the item from the check and asked again if I'm sure there's nothing else I wanted because he would make it, (he was professional) I told him no, it's fine. The waiter comes back but this time she's talking directly to my husband asking if there's anything we need, my husband asks for a box to go and we both kinda at the same time ask for the check, she walks away and roll her eyes, yes, again; .....at this point told my husband that I would meet him at the house because I decided it would be best to just leave since I was now upset. When my husband got home he told me the cook cooked up 5 more wings and left them naked with the sauces on the side ( Hot/ Garlic / Blackened) to give to me, I really do appreciate the effort, I just wished it would have been (Garlic Parmesan/ Blackened/ Hot) lol I was going to leave 3 stars but gave the extra star for the cook, the waiter is probably...
Read moreI was disappointed to find that enjoying a meal on the deck at Mugs is not an option for non-smokers. Despite being a non-smoking restaurant, the patio is consistently filled with smoke, which becomes unbearable when the vinyl enclosure shades are pulled down—something that seems to happen frequently. Instead of allowing fresh air to circulate, these shades trap the smoke inside, creating an uncomfortable and unhealthy environment.
Recently it was a pleasant 70 degrees outside so we asked the waitress and manager if the shades could be lifted to let in some fresh air—and both times we were refused. Stating that they didn’t want to “let the heat out.” Given the overwhelming presence of cigar and cigarette smoke, we were convinced they were trying not to let the smoke out. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as if the management cares that this is a direct violation of Florida’s Clean Indoor Act which clearly states if an outdoor seating area is more than 50% covered from above by a physical barrier that excludes rain, and more than 50% of the combined surface area of its sides is covered by walls, windows, or other physical barriers, it may be considered an enclosed indoor workplace, subject to smoking restrictions. Therefore, if a restaurant’s patio is enclosed with vinyl shades that effectively create an indoor environment, smoking in that area would likely violate Florida’s Clean Indoor Air Act.
