Honestly? Amazing food. Super duper amazing sushi, very talented chefs, fresh food, HUGE menu. Love the food.
Why I hated it? The visit and the service. Here's a long list of how my first visit on a Saturday evening went:
Walked in to both sushi chefs on their phones.
Waitress comes out from opposite side of bar, grabs two menus and had to yell for us to walk ourselves around the bar to grab a booth.
Had a sweater on with a city in big letters across my chest and the VERY first thing our waitress says is not her name or even a 'hello' or 'welcome' but "OH, you HAVE to take that sweater off".
We never got a name, we had to read it off the receipt.
We ordered an unpleasant roll (completely our fault) but when we opened up and mentioned it just to strike up some casual conversation she said "Then don't get it next time" Something a bit more pleasant would have helped her case here.
She answered the phone while tending us and continued to walk away while on the phone.
A different waitress had stopped by our table and asked us if we could hand her an empty soy sauce bottle, she eventually brought it back full (I should be paid to help your prep work).
The same waitress openly discussed in front of us and few other customers how much she tipped out the night before, our waitress walked over to discuss hers.
At this point I asked for a manager, she must have misheard us and continued to wait on patrons at the bar while going around the other side to use her phone.
We asked again and she looked shocked that we were serious. We were told he only works from Noon to 6 on weekdays. She followed that up with "Well, me and [the other waitress that we part-timed to do her prep work] basically run this place, so you can ask us anything."
We had a feeling that with NO supervision or management present, the employees at this establishment basically do what they want with little to no compassion. Granted the place looked nice and cozy and the food was superb, it felt like the restaurant was most recently a sports bar and the owner kept the inattentive, pompous, and negligent staff in place as a means to simply provide [whatever kind of] basic service with minimal effort. They ruin how awesome this...
Read moreMy co-workers and I were jonesing for sushi bad so I paid my brother through the cash app (Seth T) who was in the area to pick us up some food. I placed the order online, so basically they just had to READ to get my order right. I asked for no cucumber in my Shrimp Tempura roll (mine came with wilted old BROWN cucumber) I also asked to add cream cheese and eel sauce. Guess what wasn't there? My co-worker ordered fried rice w/ her chicken and veggie tempura an unpsell of $1.99 and got white rice. They said they had coke products when surprise surprise they have pepsi (but ok, I prefer pepsi but still- get it together). The food quality was overall disgusting. The salmon teriyaki was dried out and their version of "teriyaki" is a caramel colored oil splashed over vegetables. I completely regret my purchase to the extent that I will not call the restaurant because I will be nasty & uncivil. This was meant to be a treat for us at the end of a long week - $63 dollars down the drain (including the 20 I paid my brother) either way.. ugh don't waste...
Read moreThis is a mixed bag. They have a pretty decent sushi chef and a few hibachi tables. Usually the food is pretty good. I can't help but conclude this place started off as a good Japanese restaurant but degraded somehow(changed hands maybe?). They also serve Italian(not "Jitalian" this is regular American Italian food). Easily the worst part about this place are the annoying staff who are cliquey. They invite their obnoxious friends who annoy customers, they gossip about customers, and worse. These are signs of a detached owner who doesnt care about the place. You can sort of gather from being there that no one is guarding the hen house and the employees are running the roost.
Theyve got waitresses that look half asleep. One of them has awful tattoos and looks like a drug addict. She feigns romantic interest in you to get tips. The staff manager, some chinese girl has a major...
