The Local Deli — Restaurant in Largo

So, I give it a 4 because the food is great and all the people are so kind, hospitable, and welcoming however, they don’t offer a meat that is free of hormones or antibiotics. It would be nice to have at least one selection of organic meat. They should read up on the dangers of conventional meat as well as the living conditions of conventional cattle. It’s deplorable! So many people are becoming aware of this and choosing free range grass fed without the toxic injections. I’d pay the premium for it. Many locals would choose The Local over other eateries if organic were an option. Finally, I love coffee but their coffee it “terrible”!!!!! It’s bland and leaves a horrible after taste! But it says dark roast! It would be nice for this local business to support our local St. Pete coffee roasters. With that said, if they change their coffee I will change my rating to a 5 star. That would show they listen to their feedback and care about serving great coffee which would be appreciated...

MAKING PEOPLE SICK! Hope this helps others. My girlfriend had 2 sandwiches from here in the last week and got food poisoning both times. And she gets them quite often but never have gotten sick before this last week. I think something is goin on with their meat because a friend of mine go sick last week from here too! Makes me nervous because they use boars head meat and boars head is so widely known for listeria outbreaks. I’m not saying that is for certain that was it, but if not listeria, then I think there is some serious cross contamination going on here causing some type of other food poisoning bacteria’s since getting sick two times in a week; 2 different days, lasting approx 24 hours each time and ONLY after eating these sandwiches is not a coincidence.Onset of sickness happened within about 4 hours of eating each time. Nothing else changed and it’s confirmed the sandwiches are the culprit. Be careful with any deli! Especially boars...

I ordered from The Local through BiteSquad after first calling the restaurant to see what type of soup they had available. I was told they had clam chowder and chili and then I immediately placed an order for clam chowder. I am not a fan of chili, so when I received my order and found a cup of chili I called BiteSquad to tell them they delivered the wrong soup. BiteSquad refused to do anything about it because they blamed the restaurant for making a replacement without consulting them. Then I called The Local back and the women who answered (who was the same person I previously spoke with) told me they ran out of clam chowder before they prepped my order and when I expressed I didn't want the chili she repeatedly said "I don't know what I can do about it".

My issue was with both companies, but I was really taken aback by The Local's complete lack of customer service. She truly couldn't have cared less.This was disappointing and...
