The boy who took our order was rude and impatient. He asked us everything or repeated everything twice. We ordered 2 salads and a large sweet tea. 1 House salad with fried chicken add egg and ranch dressing and 1 Caesar salad add egg, cucumber and fried onions and croutons on the side.When we got to the window we were greeted by the same rude boy with an attitude. He grabbed the payment (cc) from my husband and handed it back with a straw (NO RECEIPT). Then a girl handed us out drink and another straw (STILL NO RECEIPT). The rude boy emerged at the window with our bag and almost dropped it as he was trying to hand it to my husband because he was to busy talking to someone and looking the other direction. When we got home (25 mins later) we found our "food" all messed up. The Caesar salad had the wrong cheese on it and no cucumbers or fried onions. The House salad had wilted brown lettuce, no fried onions or cucumbers and the tomatoes were old and soggy. Inside the bottom of the House salad container was full of grease? I tried soaking it up with paper towels but it was pointless because it was all over everything. When I called the store and asked to speak to the manager I was met with disdain. I was asked my name and the purpose of my call by the same rude boy from earlier. After telling him all that was wrong he put me on hold for awhile. Then said they refused to replace or refund (basically refused to acknowledge the complaint and their mistakes) because I didn't have the receipt. But again I wasn't given one. So I said I would bring the food back the next afternoon because by the time we would have gotten back to the "restaurant" they would have been closed. He said, "you still have the food? You didn't eat it?" I said, "Do you eat salad with grease as the dressing?" (He didn't reply). This is just beyond bad customer service. This is the 2nd time now that our order has been messed up to where we have to go somewhere else to get dinner and spend more money because we didn't get a receipt and they refuse to acknowledge any wrong doing on their part. While I was waiting, I noticed that the girl upfront was bent over the front counter crying about something And the rest of the employees were in the back playing around. After becoming impatient because of what I was witnessing and nothing was being done to get the order ready. I started asking when the order was going to be ready and a Young employee from the back came out and started bagging it up. it was on the counter, waiting for it to be bagged up while they were horse playing in the back so that like bothered me as well. Why would they stand around while they could help? There was nothing else to do so they would rather play and let the order sit on the counter and let the front girl bag it up And take more time getting it ready, it was running late already no sense of urgency and I noticed when I was upset about the order taking so long there was an older girl in the back with tattoos all up and down her arms. She thought it was funny. She gave me a big laughing smile I think that’s disgusting. Why can’t they find anyone who wants to do their job anymore? I expect ice cold coleslaw which you will not get if it is packed in a to go package with your hot food there is a trick to getting a cold coleslaw however for takeout, you have to order it as a side.
It seems that most takeout orders are piping hot, but certainly not in the sit-down restaurant portion. Zaxby's is almost always a good value for the quality of food that you get and having been to their restaurants in four states in many different markets, I can tell you that this newer location has completely slipped in quality in the last year.
If you eat in the restaurant it's quality and temperature is inconsistent sometimes your chicken will be hot but your fries are cold and vice versa.
This restaurant is always out of soda flavors with its ONE Coke machine, in fact, that's one reason I go to the restaurant to get two specific flavors, and on the last three visits, they were completely out of those flavors.
If you can get your food piping hot especially those fries it's a pretty good experience and a very good value...
